The main character isn’t a hero or a typical protagonist. Calling him an… opportunist would be the least offensive probably. In this age, he’s sticking out like a sore thumb.
Who would notice a few shady happenings when crime is a foreign concept and there is nobody to catch you?

- Dao SeekerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really, REALLY hope this will eventually get a 2nd book. This story is fantastic! I love the concept of a morally ambiguous nice guy in a futuristic utopia. He's generally a kind and respectful person but has a desire to break or unveil the seemingly perfect utopic nature and naivety of this futuristic society he finds himself in. And doing so through pulling simple scams on mostly naive people is quite entertaining to read.
Pair that with the counter-balance character of his internal AI chip, who tries to keep him on the straight and narrow, and we have 5-star worthy story! The AI character starts out fairly basic but progressively builds up more personality and charm as she converses with the MC. She sort of plays the straight man to his outrageous behaviour (by current society standards) and the dialog between the two just gets better and better.
A story like this could easily lose its way without goals or direction. Although at the start he is quite aimless because he's basically been dropped into the future with no idea what's going on, some direction quickly gets added to the story. Through some introspection he comes up with personal goals and things he wants to do, and then actively sets out to achieve them. There is also the excitement of escaping and being on the run from several different parties interested in his origins or his activities.
So, for all the above reasons, this story has me hooked and got me wishing for more. I'm willing to wait 10+ years for book 2, so please author, if you're reading this, take as long as you need but please don't give up on this story! - DrakaosRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well what can I say.

Seems like it's a timetravel story, which makes the title more sensible.
I'm a bit annoyed that the in-media-res opening still hasn't come back around, despite being nearly 200 pages in.
I'm holding back a half-star because the story's not yet done, which makes it difficult to judge the thematics. But this is far, far above the usual fare I find on this site, and as long as it doesn't take a drastic tonal swerve, I'll probably keep enjoying it to the end. - drizzRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This has great potential. I feel like the characters are acting somewhat strangely, but hey - it's the future.
Grammar is OK, with the occasional tense mismatch, etc. but the one thing that was really annoying me was the often incorrect syntax. Things like that really break the flow for me.
After some editing, this will be a gem.
