Description
In a future Sydney crippled by overpopulation and dwindling resources, Victoria fights to keep her fractured family afloat. Electricity is scarce, and survival depends on strict energy rationing, but while the city teeters on the edge of collapse, Victoria is determined to carve out a future for herself and her loved ones.
With her father absent in all but name, the weight of responsibility falls on her shoulders. Balancing school, work, and the looming uncertainty of tomorrow, she struggles to maintain a sense of normalcy in a world where stability is a luxury. As tensions rise and the fight for resources turns desperate, Victoria must make impossible choices, ones that could determine not only her fate but the future of those she loves.

- Naty111Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really enjoy the author’s style. It is clear, easy to read, full of interesting facts, and has a unique perspective that I truly appreciate. The grammar is excellent, and as someone who is not a native English speaker, I have found the chapters very easy to understand and follow. Each sentence feels carefully chosen, and the pacing of the story keeps me engaged from start to finish.
What I love the most is the sense of mystery that surrounds everything. The story feels like a puzzle made up of many questions, slowly revealing small clues piece by piece. For example, I can’t stop wondering what happened to Victoria’s mother. Her absence is deeply felt, and it makes me curious about her past. And why is the father always at home and never allowed to go out? There is something strange about his presence. In a chapter, it is mentioned that he seems distant or disconnected as if someone has stolen his soul. In Chapter 8, there is even a question that asks whether the United World uses clairvoyance magic.
This book invites you to ask questions, to read between the lines, and to pay close attention. I love stories that challenge me in that way. I am excited to keep reading and uncover more!
