Fantastic realistic version of thebpokemon world come to ours. A fantastic use of a "weak" Pokemon as a companion, good and realistic characters, good grammar and style, well placed timeskips and a good overall pace. Very much enjoyed it.
Only issue I'd say this story has is the author forgets to write what people do while talking. Very rare to see body language or movment mentioned (as in doing something while they talk) body language, movment, and rare tone of voice ussage. Its rather odd as he so good at those things when out of a conversation.
Looking forward to the future, thanks for blessing me with this story.

Also i know you have a plan in mind but i do hope your planning to make him a specialist. Looking at his team now making him a normal type specialist would make sense. I feel like especially is a world like this where there is no established reasearch, training method or knoweldge of train aura, i think it logically makes sense to have the mc focus on one type to make growth easier across all his pokemon.

Possibly my favourite Pokemon fan fic of all time, even as little of it that there is. Its just a really unique setting in terms of Pokemon fan fics and I'm loving the development of the story. The main character is fairly interesting and the current Pokemon team being built up is coming to be something different from the norm since it's more of a survival story.

Honestly not sure what specifically to say about this fiction. It's a survivalist/frontier town fic with pokemon, one of the ones where pokemon are actually fucking dangerous. Not quite the "nuclear weapons in a pokeball" of I Will Touch The Skies, but definitely dangerous. There's predation by and hunting of Pokemon and bonding a wild pokemon is likely to get yourself killed, but it feels more "realistically tough" than grimdark. There's also dungeons but they still feel grounded.
In terms of writing, it's competently written, with interesting characters and appropriate pacing. The author obviously knows at least enough about real world survivalism to make the fic feel grounded and realistic and there's interesting animal facts at the end of most chapters.
All in all, I definitely recommend this fic. It's even more fun to read than "When is a Spoon a Sword" imho, though that might just be because I personally find frontier living more interesting than kendo. If you like Pokemon fics, this is one of the most competently written on the site and definitely worth a read.

Fantasticlly done fanfic. Beleivable characters including the pokemon. Gritty and realistic without turning obsurdly grim and edgy, MC doesn't feel like the centre of the universe whos dominationg the apocalypse, just a normall guy who got a bit lucky and new to get out of dodge early.
It also really shines in the quieter moments when MC takes a moment to appreciate the serenity of early morning even in a world post nuculer holocaust.

This story had me hooked. Feels like this is how this scenario would play out, with good interactions been ordinary people and pokemon.
Situations with people who know nothing about pokemon are exactly how I'd see them playing out. Fear and anger.

Its a more gritty take at a system take over apocalypse, Pokémon flavored.
It sets a lot of interesting information up, makes you think, gives cool survival info, and tries to balance how a real life casual fan and survivor would attempt to handle a real life fight to the death with wild Pokémon.
Ovbiously, there is death in here of both humans and Pokémon. The story tries its hardest to be more grim realism while keeping Pokémon Mysticism. If it succeeded is up to the reader and their view of things, though it is definitely entertaining.
Highly recommend giving it a shot.

Honestly one of the best works I've read in a while the pacing is good the characters are interesting and the author doesn't fall into some of the same traps many writers including myself fall into. It's impressive how characters feel so realistic and how you are able to show how dangerous even weaker pokemon can be when compared to a human. Somehow you've more accurately captured the Monster side of pokemon than any other fiction I've ever read AND managed to make them feel like a trusted friend. 10/10 would recommend.

This fan fiction is really fun. The world is harsh and the main character is a reasonable level of competent instead of being the chosen one. The litrpg elements are nearly nonexistent and honestly don't know if they are needed at all outside of explaining dungeon rules (which could just be a sign in the dungeon). That is a good sign though, if a litrpg doesn't need the system then that means the author is actually explaining the power system without just throwing numbers at you.
Good mix of exploring, powers, and characters. Looking forward to seeing more.

I like Pokémon, but I've always liked it when it gets darker, with deeper meanings and greater inherent danger that comes from magic animals built for fighting. This fic delivers on that in spades. So give it a shot if you enjoy Pokémon with a bit of darkness and bonds of friendship.
