Pohonemas33: The Sorrow Tree

Ten-year-old Kai, already mired in desperate poverty, faces his deepest sorrow when his beloved and fatally ill dog, Scamp, leads him to a mystical, glowing tree—thePohonemas33—moments before dying at its roots. Haunted by Scamp's death and now acutely feeling the suffering of his fever-stricken village, Kai navigates his grief by using the Pohonemas33's gift to alleviate the suffering around him.
