Stuck in a game, you say? Been done, move on. But what if you were its only inhabitant, in a game that is slowly being overwritten? Better?
In a world disintegrating around her, Arline Johnson is forced from her hammock, onto the road. She'll need to face monsters, AI, and the vagaries of the viewing public in order to find her way home.
What's that?Too easy?
Well, maybe not. You see, there's one other problem...

- CatpotatoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I found this one by pressing the Surprise Me! button a few times, and I was definitely surprised. I usually don't like characters that can't compare to even the most basic monster, but in this world it doesn't matter, because she isn't trying to get more powerful, only survive.
Spoilers ahead, but nothing that will ruin the story. If I spoil beyond chap. 30 or so, I'll make it vague.
This is a classic trapped in VR story, where our protagonist isn't very powerful, but she makes up for it with luck ingenuity. She grows stronger throughout the story, but the story is very fast-paced so don't expect many fights. I also love the search for the MC and how fast it gets started, I thought that it was very realistic how they responded when the MC's life was on the line.
My two problems with the story are kind of big spoilers, so only read on if you're ok with that. One, I don't find it realistic at all that the AI wouldn't tell her that she was being streamed 24/7. That could lead to some terrible situations and the biggest plot hole is that at any time she could have just shouted her address. Also, we see him almost tell her that he broadcast her singing to the entire world, so we know he has contact.
My second big gripe is about the dungeon fairy. She's a stuck up snob that does nothing, and apparently was put in to... somehow help Arline to get out? There is no reason for her to be there, and she opens up a lot of other plot holes with the developers communication with the game.
4.5/5 read it. - PotassiumRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Fairly interesting among de genre of defective AR but the main storyline can be somewhat tiring. The secondary plot of the real word quest for the main charcter I found more compelling. Overall, well worth a read. My main advice to the author would be to be cautios of the danger of overextending the story
