Lochar has done a real good job of depicting the slow collapse of a government and country.
In fact, at the point that I am writing --ch29-- the collapse hasn't even fully happened yet.
The reason that I am waxing poetic about this point, is that in every other post apocalyptic story that I have read, The Big Disaster happens, and done. Society no more.
In this story, the world has been hit over and over with different disasters.
Yet bureaucracy is still limping on, people haven't all suddenly become staunch anarchists, and averagely good people still exist.

Planete cultivation is what every cultivation novel would wish to be : more than just face slapping, jade beauty and the same trope over and over again in a never ending cycle of higher realm after higher realm.
A refreshing take on the cultivation setting. Well written story, good world building and characters. Definitely worth the read even tho we are on hiatus for 2.5 years.
(Still waiting for the grand return, even in 10 years I will be patiently waiting for author to come back from his seclusion)

Loving the story so far.  The detailed cultivation, with science backing it, coupled with end of days events has made it one of my favorites on RR.  Fairly well edited as well, which makes a nice change from the normal cultivation story.   Looking forward to more in the future!

In a genre that has rapidly become formulaic this approach is definitely new and refreshing.  It brings our world into the world of cultivation in a way that is interesting and not going mad max immediately.  It doesn't do stations of cannon.
It explores the idea from the outside, and how a new world might react.

This is basically a system apocalypse with the system replaced by cultivation.  The apocalypse is slower moving than usual, but with no blue boxes, there's a lot more guesswork going on how to adapt.
I'm really liking this so far, and eager to see how it progresses!  The nascent science of cultivation is fun to follow.

This is the kind of story that people come to this site to look for, I think.
The kind of story that reminds you of why you fell in love with a specific genre to begin with.
I'm not going to bother going into detail, because I think that defeats the whole purpose of a lite review, but what I will say, is that, while this story is not perfect, it is as close as it gets.
Like my review title says, this is a splendid work of fiction.
But don't take my word for it. Read the first two chapters, I Dare you to drop it after.

Really like how this story is developing. Well written and believable characters. Instead of being transmigrated to a brutal cultivation world, a god like cultivator transmigrates to earth to kickstart cultivation in our world. The characters are just normal people trying to figure things out. This is going on my favorites.

Instead of a pallete swap, this modern cultivation story truly is one. Instead of cultivators leaving in a world with modern technology, or cultivation becoming possible in a post-modern (post-)apocalyptic society, here we have a scenario where cultivation emerges in a slightly future version of our current world. It is in part a rationalist approach to it, but the MC does not fetishize the scientific method. There are pressures being placed on them, and I would not call it Slice-of-Life, and the MC does stand out from the crowd, but there are no constant life or death battles, and no current necessity for it.

First Cultivation story I've seen set in the modern day on Earth, without just having a complete setting change with stuff like technology magically not working anymore. Well-written, good premise and thought-out power mechanics. Defintely recommend for fans of the Xianxia genre, as it's similar enough to count, but different enough to be refreshing. What else can you ask for?

The story is great; one of those stories where when you reach the current end you pause because the idea of reading somthing else just doesn't appeal for a moment. The cultivation race against the clock gives the characters an understandable and 'good' goal, providng a strong plot that stays in the background most of the time. This naturally leads to strong charterization and setting exploration because the plot doesn't take up words that can expand relationships and show how the world is changing do the the xianxia apocalypse.
The story is all this despite several small parts that dont 'fit' with whats described. I hesitate to call them plot holes because everything we know makes it follow logically, more like... bumps where darns were made over the setting. Changes that aren't obvious to our world to make the premise work. Kind of like how most VRMMO/LitRPG stories ignore how the massive technological advancements needed to make a VRMMO would effect the world and why such an expensive project didn't consult game designers – if they didn't the story wouldn't happen.
Planetary Cultivation follows a roughly modern earth and follows someone not particularly interested in cultivation before this leading the charge. While the cultivation system has some unique aspects (or at least not visible in classic xianxia-land without CAT scanners), so far it is fairly similar to many xianxia first stages of cultivation. It seems... unusuall, that despite there being about a million other people with her advantage (a comment indicates that the number of people capable of internal-only cultivation is somewhere in the 1 in 10,000 range). Presumably xianxia is a little different there as lighting the dantian isn't very different from early breakthroughs in a a lot of ours; no way no-one tried that if they have our xianxia. Instead most follow a 'false path' that harms their cultivation and will requrie time to patch, ensuring she has a lead for a little while at least.
    Another 'darn'
