What's a Soul to do? Refined into a Pill by a godlike Demonic Immortal and inscribed directly with instructions on how to cultivate to Ascension, chucked into an isolated chamber in some Realm somewhere...

All so that he can be consumed later to fuel their cultivation.

Worse yet, I'm not even the protagonist of this story, I'm just a doomed cultivation resource! Even if I can cultivate, create a body, reach Immortality, I'll be but an ant to the Demonic Immortal who made me and the other billions of people of Earth into Pills.

Did I say worse yet!? Now some disheveled, homely Beast woman who's had about a decade more bad luck than she's had life stumbled into my private chamber and interrupted my cultivation, just before I could start forming a body!

And sheateme in the hopes of saving her own skin, despite her crippled cultivation.

I hate to be a pill, but I'm not quite ready to be consumed, alright?!?
