Description

"The Great Cull is upon us. If we do not defeat them then the world will end and all of humanity will be forced to start again"

They were words spoken by a crazed man but still, they rang with truth. Joe once lived a simple life, one far away from the pain and suffering in the town of his birth. Working on a farm in the middle of outback New South Wales was far easier than the memories he'd left behind.

That changed though the moment a scream filled the air and the outhouse became the very portal through which the Toilet Crocs invaded. Now Joe must navigate a changing world filled with nonsense game mechanics and the whims of heartless Primordials with nobody but his trusty farm dog Stella and a horse who hates his guts at his side.

Through ridiculous quests, epic battles, and painful betrayals, Joe must seek out Nigel the Sentinel to have any chance to survive the invasion and receive the Guardian's reward.

Too bad the other players left behind seemed determined to see him flushed from existence.

After reading a bit of the story on a whim, I found it entertaining and pretty funny tbh, it doesn't make sense to me why there are so few followers and only a handful of ratings when there're 618 pages (as of now) of the story posted, after several months of updates. I don't use RR to read, I just post my own stories here, so this is literally the first story I've read a bit of and actually wanted to keep reading. There's not much dialogue in the early chapters but the exposition works well IMO. We'll see how it develops, but I'm all for ridiculousness and nonsensical aspects, I died when buddy looted Gordon's safe and the item information windows popped up. The story is a balance between goofiness and seriousness, and I'd say it's done pretty well and that the writing style is more than decent, which puts it far ahead of most stories on this site. I'd probably be more inclined to leave a 4-star rating but this story is criminally under the radar so I hope this review helps to boost its visibility, totally unfair to the author that not many people are reading it.
