When the darkness clears they find themselves armed and in uniform, standing in a circle in an unknown desert with the growing sense that they're not in the real world anymore.
Well, no sense hanging about in the wilderness. Pick a direction and start walking, let's see what this new reality requires.
Updates Every Thursday ... I hope.
I really need to come up with a better title.

- MatthewsonTRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0For fans of milsims, Ready or Not, or just people who have a bunch of friends who they plays video games with. Most gaming friend groups would end up exactly like the one here, with the same emotions, drama, concerns, and hopes.
A really enjoyable read. Perfect spellnig, puntuation, grammar, etc. Story flows well. Good plot hooks without cliffhangers are the end of every chapter. 0 complaints overall.
A few questionable choices by people in the early chapters, but nothing egregious - I think a lot is justified by the characters having been recently transported to a new world. It's also possible the author was finding their feet - the story & writing does seem to improve over time. - ahmetrtRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I think this novel is great and a hidden gem, The grammar is great I didn't see any mistakes, even though I can't say that my English is perfect. The story is captivating, the style is as good as it gets, and the characters are unique and don't feel like they are one-dimensional or copies of each other. The only thing I don't like is the attitude of the main character Alter.
Alter is ruthless enough to order the execution of a bandit-looking unknown party without trying any diplomacy, but he is way too passive(many would even call it cowardly) in conversations with locals in the fantasy world.
They save a pair of teenagers from certain doom, they cure one of the teenagers from poison and they demand nothing, not even any knowledge. What are you a saint or something?
Alter then wants to enter the service of the other teenager Oliver, which in turn inspect Alter with a magical skill, Alter even though knows nothing about magic and what Oliver did to him doesn't even question Oliver about this, and brushes it off his invasion of privacy after learning what he did.
Oliver promises Alter and his unit food and a wage for their service like they are factory workers or something. Alter promptly agrees he doesn't even negotiate or ask how much would be their salaries worth.
There are many more instances why I don't like Alter's attitude but I think I gave enough spoilers today.
