I decided to write a review of my own book, well it will be 5 + books depending on the story flow and information. Each book is 300+ pages As of chapter 54 we reach page 285.
For a first book it is over ambitious, but it is the story I want tell. It has many moving parts in it and characters. It is not perfect, nor it is everyone’s taste. The flow is fast paced, sometimes too fast, but sadly, the world they live in right now does not allow for a breather and I try to show that, sometimes I succeed, other times I have failed.
Overall I am writing the book for fun,and am having FUN writing it! I will learn greatly from it. After book 1 is done I will take a break and go back and re-edit it before moving onto book 2. Some chapters have too little details while other may have too much. And of course fix all the spelling, typos etc.

Titles of course are subject to change but this is how I envision them so far. I will continue them here under Once a Hero for easier access and continuation.
As I said I write for fun and wish to tell a story. Is is plausible? maybe. Is everything factual? no. Is it realistic? the romances may not be right now, but all will be revealed over time, as to the rest of it (aside from the romances) maybe, maybe not, but I try to keep it as believable as possible and sometimes what I think does not translate well into words, but I will improve!
I thank all the reviews both good and bad, I read them everyday. Some, there is nothing I can do about them, others I take to heart and fix my work accordingly. I hope you enjoy Once a Hero!
EDIT: For the Record, there is no NTR and no Tragedy. Tragedy being none of the girls or the main die in this story, but does not include others. The world is a cruel place now, death is everywhere.

As i said nearly flawless due to some minor things that i will venture and guess will be fixed naturally as the story progress.
I think this is the highest rate i've given in my time here reading the stories here. And IMO this deserves the score.

Reason being the style sometimes gets influenced by the grammar which is pretty small imo.

This is heavily influenced by previous stories in this site such as: change:new world. But it has its own uniqueness by using mature people with regressed age and not our standard teenager troupé which are bound to make pretty dumb mistakes and sadly justifiable.

Not gonna judge the "thru and tho" as i use the tho sometimes, and know about thru, but the small mistakes that happen sometimes due to missing letters and some missing comas for better sentence understanding.
Characters 5/5
Gotta admit this is one of the strongest points of this FF the Mc is not a pretty boy nor was he ever popular with girls and he was 41y/o perfect mature age with plenty of life experience due to his past.
The heroine Troupé is unique in its own way also, sadly and im gonna admit i feel that Cindy love due to suspension bridge is viable but not that much due to the fact that they didnt had such a great experience like it would have been if it was the 2 of them alone. But aside for that everything else is perfect so imma just gonna ignore that little fact.
All in all i can say this story also comes with the perk of the releases so fast, god in a single day you uploaded 10 ch. And not small ones on top of that. So you can call me a pretty much fanboy of this story hopd you get even better

Honestly, I really disliked this story but it's more of a personal taste.
Style: I don't particularly dislike the style but I'm not particularly appealed by it either. Although the presentation of it is very appreciated (red for MC thoughts...) I don't know why, I can't point my finger on it, but the style is not to my liking... Maybe because I prefer a much more impartial narration?
Story: I actually like the general plot line, but it's how it's unfolded that made me lose interest. I know it sounds illogical, even to me, but that's how I feel it.
Grammar: Nobody is perfect but it's close to perfectly readable without cringing at any mistakes unless you look for them.
Character: I like how they are but I can't get myself to be attached to them, I don't feel like I would care much if they died and there is a perspective change to somewhere all the way across the world for no reason and it suddenly becomes a BL story...
Actually, any BL perspective?

At the start of the story you don’t understand what you’r reading, it seems to depict an american man struggling with his life. It’s really well written you’r immediately immersed in it, you follow Scott to the shopping mall, not completely understanding what’ll happen.
And then BAM, creatures start appearing!
From the first chapter to the last I read, the flow of the story and its pace are perfect, there are a few discontinuity but nothing harmful.
The story in itself isn’t new, there are many light novel and fictions following this theme, but you brought new changes to the usual theme, creating an original story. And the way everything follow up, neat!
The characters are lifelike, they have they own stories and needs, it’s nearly perfect, the only thing I can find fault in is that you focus too much on the MC point of view, you hardly describe the life for the residents of his barony, how they struggle between their fears and hope. There are also no “events” in this small community (fight, bully, group composition, happy event…)
On another note, I know you don’t want to make it into a tragedy, but the “game” level of difficulty is too easy. Here we follow an ancient soldier, but if it’s a party of gamers, they’ll make small pieces out of those monsters.
The party system, how the profession give lots of boost and equipments, the help guide on the new world, the barony system who grants a safe territory unless very strong or special monsters attack, it’s too easy for them to survive and evolve.
It’s supposed to be something akind to a horror story with dreadful monsters who pop up, yet your fiction only talks about action, love, hope. There are barely any deaths in his barony since its foundation, and death isn’t definitive since old doc can resuscitate them given a price.
We readers, cannot feel true fear or anxiousness from your characters, at least not me, there is always a safety net under them, doctors and guards to protect them from harm.

it all goes bad real fast, the mc does not act his age, most of the other characters seem forced into the story to give the mc someone to lead or to save or to "(romance?) " as a result they barely have any depth.
all in all it's a good effort but I can't help but feel that the good setting you had was wasted.
