- mustache.you.a.questionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Update: I binge read everything the author has put out including everything on patreon. I couldn't wait after that cliff hanger. THIS IS SO GOOD!
The author is also very consistent with posting daily content as promised and makes an effort to consider reader comments for edits, etc.
I am definitely looking forward to reading more content.
Original: I've been following LitRPG for awhile now and just needed something new and different to read. This definitely scratched an itch for me.
C.H.A.D.D is breaking all the rules with being a drone familiar. Including his own rules.... dun dun dun! He is a total gem in this story and provides great comedic relief among the chaos.
Great story so far. Drawing out that much emotion in the first chapter was a bold play. Definitely left me wanting more to read. Excited to see where Kyle will take his skills now that life as he knows it is done.
To be honest, having an MC that is an overall average dude in both stature and status in the beginning is a game changer. And a healer class at that! Having a healer class MC in the genre is refreshing.
As a new read, it is very well written. Few mistakes here and there, but nothing blatantly ruining the story. And the cover artwork is breathtaking!
I definitely recommend this saga to anyone particularly interested in cute familiars, underdogs, and SciFi. - Five6212Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0First of all, let me just say I’m enjoying this story and so would you. The story follows the of Kyle and his A.I companion as they journey through an apocalyptic earth filled with enhanced beasts (bugs, more like).
The author’s writing style deserves full credits. He paints the scene vividly and makes sure to keep you immersed while you read. He does not leave you with less and neither does he make you ask for more. We get to flow with the main character and his story and we get to enjoy his journey.
The grammar is well done, there were only some few errors that the author quickly fixes as soon as it is brought to his attention in the comments, so no problem here as well.
The story is beautifully done. Great premise, great execution. It’s Litrpg but the author does not throw the numbers in your face all the time, so you won’t get bogged out by seeing a lot of numbers, oh, and they don’t go brrr! It’s a slow process with Kyle’s growth, so don’t expect him to be manhandling monsters with ease right from the bat.
Then we have the characters. There are not much of them present yet, well as the synopsis says: apocalypse, which means less people, but those that that we’ve seen present are all done finely. Each with their own characterization that makes them unique from one another, heck even the A.I. C.H.A.D.D is getting their own personality. Good stuff.
All in all you’re in for a great ride. The author is fun to chat with as well, the comments don’t lie, so you can check out the story and enjoy your ride. - ReapnoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A nice fantasy/Sci-Fi mix that at points feels similar to Path of Ascension without being too close to feel boring or unoriginal. The Characters are fun and have nice depth. The main Characters are growing constantly but not too quick. A rare and appreciated treat is the emotional growth next to growth in strength. Killing doesn’t come too easy too quickly and the struggle to adapt into a galactic community is nicely fleshed out. The comic relief / Sidekick of the story also has some depth and development. Overall a gem.
- Ajmiller1990Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a bit of a tangent of the style of reading I am generally into. However I really am enjoying what I've read so far. The chapters are quick, easy to consume, and make you want to continue reading in the same sitting.
CHADD is quite funny and I have caught myself laughing multiple times now at some of his quips.
I believe the struggle that Kyle is in, him realizing his old life is effectively over, and his resolve to make the best of his circumstances is something that is down to earth and appreciated.
I look forward to getting deeper into the plot, especially the antagonist side of things. - BobCharlieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: The Authors style is nice and smooth. The story flows nicely. Everything is nice and detailed (not overly so) and there's no sense of the story having been rushed. The plot has obviously been well thought out in advance. No plot holes or confusing head scratching moments.
Story: I'm barely a quarter of the way through, but so far, it's been great. Rather than the typical System integration situation, the story starts off a couple generations in. The world is thought to be more or less safe, which is good, because the last D Grade being is dying (quickly 😭). The plot progresses at an excellent pace. Not too fast, not too slow.
Grammar: I'm not the best judge of grammar, as mine is atrocious, but so far as I can tell, it is on point. As of chapter 14 I haven't seen a single error.
Character: Kyle is a bit of an idealistic softie lol. He's a healer who also gets his hands dirty when necessary. Although a lot of his early problems could've been solved with some casual mayhem and destruction, as a healer, he's understandably not too fond of killing. He's easy to relate with, and his AI companion C.H.A.D.D adds in an excellent source of comedic relief.
All in all, this is one to keep an eye on! Give it a shot! Now. - DabossUnberogenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story immediately caught my eye after reading the first chapter. Normally in post apocalyptic progression fantasies, the characters start off right after the apocalypse has happened, but this one actually starts after humanity has gained a foothold and made a better world for themselves.
The style was engaging and clear, with a very readable cadence. There were no unnecessary words and every thing functioned effectively. It was refreshing to read as well, and it transported me into the story line more than if it had been jerky and broken up.
The rich background and pre-constructed history of post apocalyptic Earth are really well done, and the journey of the MC is engaging as well. I liked the unconventional progression path of Kyle as a healer. Usually in books like this, the main characters are almost universally fighters.
The grammar was clear, and there were no obvious mistakes. The few that there were had no impact on the story, and they did not make it hard to read.
Kyle is an interesting character, and the other side characters are well written as well. The companion robot actually acts like a robot too, not just a person in the guise of a robot.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this story. - Ding-DongRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly, at the start of the chapter, I felt confused with the world and what is the current setting of this world, but as the story progressed, it revealed information bit by bit as the chapters progressed and it's really good.
The MC is Healer and his companion is literal Chad. The setting is an apocalyptic world with a system, I guess more regarding how this world works will be revealed in later chapters.
If you are looking for a routine, normal isekai/reincarnated doctor or healer story that uses system and level-up, you will be in for a surprise, because this one is not.
The LitRPG tag justifies the story and is only used in the crucial moments which does not hinder the reading experience.
As for grammar, I'm not that picky, and overall, it was relatively good. Based on the comments I've seen, any mistakes that were there have already been pointed out and fixed.
The only issue I felt is that the paragraphs were too big, and for some, it might feel jarring to read. However, for me, it was not an issue.
The MC is well-developed, and his sidekick brings charm to the overall story. As far as I have read, there are not many characters, but whatever has been introduced is written well. - DeikonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I enjoy The characters and the way this story unfolds.
I find that the lit RPG elements are just right from my kind of reading taste and that the writing gets better the more I read it.
I also like the idea of a greater galactic culture.
Man, I'm very happy to read this story! - LestiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Started out listening to the audiobooks and then came here to binge the rest!
This is a very fun series and I have no complaints at all.
MC is great, and the interaction with Chadd is honestly some of the best and most wholesome conversations iv seen in books. You really get the feeling of patience and bond they have come through when the MC talks to the AI.
The skills and entertaining and the world has much to offer in terms of world building.
Grammer 5/5 what I did see id barely say I'm qualified to judge. I don't bother looking anyway. - Ashish526Royal Road★★★★ 3.5I am always hearing about op mc in litrpg genre but always find novels like delve and this one. In these types of stories you get annoyingly innocent weak moral crying baby MC. I am not saying this is not a good thing but when mc is helping everyone at cost of his well-being it is not really realistic and frustrating. Other then primal hunter and a new world all the other litrpg i have read always portray main character some kind of saint .
Basically it is not for me. Good novel though as been told in other reviews.
