- ntns55Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely a story worth your time. While the baseline of the story draws inspiration from an existing concept, the author manages without a doubt to make the setup their own, ensuring that the take feels fresh and helps keep the story moving along without rushing it.
There are of course, some elements that I am not necessarily a fan of, but see these as my own personal biases. I am not a big fan of first person perspective, but I will admit that it works really well for this story. However, the pop-ups are split up and do not get the impact that they should have.
Text like:
[Quest Complete: Witch Hunt]
[XP Gained: 500]
[Level Up!]
[New Skill Available: Choose Your Reward]
would look a lot better if it was presented in the form of a table, ensuring that the text has a unique background and can be seen as one bit box instead of four lines of text. This also provides some visual stimulation that will encourage readers to read the next chapter.
That being said, this is simply my opinion and preference, and not a critism of the story, since the story and writing style is incredibly solid, and well worth your time! - Cthulhus_WrathRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I am on chapter 18 and there are enough flaws that I'm going to set this down and check it again in a few months and see if they were fixed or not.
On several instances things are glossed over or forgotten or only work when author wants them too.
items disappear, skills level before even being acquired, the goal that is worked towards for several chapters is forgotten about, MC has power to jump high enough to land in trees while getting a tutorial type explanation, but doesn't display any of that while climbing cave wall or anything else before or after.
It has potential, but needs a continuity editor desperately.
