- LiarbytradeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pretty much what it says in the title. The grammar's inconsistent in spots, but you get a pass on that, given the update rate, so long as it doesn't get too egregious. This is probably one of the first random picks I've ever looked at, where I thought, 'Yes, please, more.'
- tofu salesmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an extremely interesting while also potentially madness inducing tale.
If I end up mad as a result of it it was probably worth it.
This story does not hold your hand, it just happens and is enjoyable and that's about it. It's almost like as soon as it starts to make a little bit of sense and get cohesive the author throws a dart at the wall of potentiality to decide what happens next. Somehow it still ends up being enjoyable.
I don't know. Read this book, it's good, the end.
Unless you have or are concerned with having schizophrenia, this story will either cure it or cause it, not quite sure as of yet. - The OxRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Not a Grimoire is an interesting and sometimes hard to read little story.
The chapters are miniscule, as they are the scraps of diary entries of the protagonist Tina. Tina is trapped in a nightmare apocalypse of horrible proportions. The specifics of them are unknown because Tina herself doesn't understand much of anything that has happened to her world. She is a survivor without much control or power to acquire any in the midst of the horror that has consumed the world. Reading the entries and filling in the blanks with all sorts of imagined horror fills the reader with vicarious fear and protective parental concern for the poor kid.
Not a Grimoire is a very experimental work, but it is an extremely fast read, more people should give it a try.
