Description
24 hours. 10 bidders. 1 winner.
A Princess from Earth is invited to an auction on a distant planetoid only to learn that she's the item on sale.
Her foes include: a Chinese space pirate, a Russian duelist, a Japanese high-tech samurai, a Venusian mafiosi, two expert French poisoners, a floating Swiss banker, a German Baron with more ties to her family than she can imagine, and a British gentleman who also happens to be a pterodactyl.
Her arsenal consists of: vague memories from classes she mostly slept through, a pile of gadgets for which she’s never read the user manual, excellent table manners, and a ferret who's loyal to a fault.
This will not be easy.
Hey, so since the novel was published by WordFire press, I can't leave the whole thing online. You can getthe whole thing herethough. There's even an audiobook. If you read it on RR, a short Amazon review will be really appreciated. It helps a lot!
Also,my second novel is here in full. It's a litRPG about a dwarf paladin who really, really wants to get a domain of her own...

- RoseButterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Noblesse Oblige is full of the sensation of a wonderful murder mystery party. There's no crawling through ducts or evading detection. This is very upfront, gentile, civilized murder. Bold, honest, unrepentant, and civilized.
Everyone is going to die. Our heroine will do her utmost to kill them. But we don't know how. That's the fun part, because neither does she.
Have I mentioned yet that she is snarky and fantastic? Because she is. Her commentary is hilarious and to die for.
Everyone is scheming against each other through various cultural interpretations of etiquette. I'd liken it to And Then There Were None if we knew the motivations of the murderer. The plots and maneuvers and sci-fi setting build together to create a fantastic work of literature.
Read it. 10/10 - IllthylianRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5There is a sophisticated and pleasant cruelty to this story that is undeniably fascinating to read through, even if murder-mystery (or in this case, inverse murder-mystery) isn't your favorite genre. The world building, characters, and very first chapter all set the stage of a universe that is absolutely bonkers in its scale, depth and weight of excess, and though there appears to be little that cannot be done or seen, there is careful work to make the story grounded enough in reality that it feels possible, if highly implausible.
Grammar is almost perfectly spot on, with only a few odd stylistic choices with syntax causing brief confusions here and there. And that style is definitely on full display, with the author's commanding grasp of the english language and clear enjoyment of having fun with both the wonderfully written dialogue and even better written characters. The characters, absolutely, are the stars of this show and much fun is had and experienced in trying to predict who is next to die and how. There isn't especially a sense of dread or critical stakes at play, but the writing and author is having such a fun time of being out-of-this-world crazy that you can't help but smile and follow along just to see where it will go.
Definitely recommended even if you aren't a fan of the genre just to enjoy the intelligence on display, and to watch a writer take what seems like a completely nutty concept, and cartwheel it into something both hilarious and surreal. - Sea ChangeRoyal Road★★★ 2.5This is a wild and looney tunes romp of non-sequiturs, absurd manners, character quirks that have their own character quirks, contemporary commentary, and randomly random randomness. Broad national sterotypes might be funny for some.
So far the princess has not used any of her lessons, any of her suit gadgets, or her table manners. The ferret seems to be using her.
I give this two and a half stars instead of three because the author has said: "but never accused of being a cat, a decidedly lazy and useless animal"
Hrrrmph! Hrrrmph hrrrmph, I say!
Probably won't need them
Style: Wild and wooly. Since this happens in a fantasy space opera setting anything can happen and does.
Pacing: The story makes crazy stops and starts along the way so it can't be said to have pacing. The Princess is making slow and steady progress towards her goals, such as they are.
Grammar: The grammar is excellent with no misspellings, even in foreign languages of which there are a few
Characters: All characters are important, but since they are all wild caricatures they can't be properly said to be even one-dimensional. It isn't the point of this kind of story. They are all exactly as described in the story synopsis by the author.
