The king's assassin tries to convince a little girl to make golems for war. Dark, with a sprinkling of humour. It's a story of political intrigue written from all sides of the war at ground level. The larger picture can be harder to see, caught up in the individual lives of the characters.It's also a story about the burden of duty and the scars of the past. I've labelled it a tragedy, which the first book is, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for humour.Main characters include a supernatural assassin, crazy old historian and his assistant, even crazier old philosopher, an army hell bent on dealing out justice whatever the cost, and a lost and alone nine year old girl, caught between them all.This is the whole book now!
