- LordGrim22Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far everything is good. The story and world building is good. I never thought that with only 15 chapters at the time I started reading this was going to be so good that I wanted to read chapter after chapter. Keep up the good work author and plz don’t drop this novel. I also see that this is a villain lead novel so I'm hoping for it to be really good.
- TheOneWhoWaitsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you’re looking for a story about a herald of death finding their place in a new world, than I would recommend you read this book.
While there are a few spelling errors here and there, it’s still an amazing read and I don’t see why it’s not more popular. - luda305Royal Road★★★★ 4.0This is unfortunately quite a difficult story to enjoy. To be sure, on the small scale, the wordsmithing is great and it reads well. What throws me for a loop though is the macro issues, such as the plot, worldbuilding and characters. Even after 10 chapters, we're really not given much of an explanation of the set-up. Who was our protagonist and how did she end up where she is (both literally and figuratively)? Why should we care about her as a person or character? Who is this helper guy at the beginning and how did he know to be here? Why did these shardbearer "gods" start appearing in the world a few decades back? Why does this world need a new "god"? Is this Earth? How did the only five countries in the whole continent coincidentally happen to share a common border?
I think to enjoy the story you have to just accept the set-up as-is, and while I do that to some extent, this story takes it too far and ideas just get tossed in.
The protagonist is rather flat as a character, and becoming an undead skeleton really doesn't help that. She also develops a weird split personality which seems more like a gag than a serious character trait.
Also, for anyone wondering about the bone breasts on the cover art, she added those to her to help disguise herself as a living human woman. - uxelRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Overall I guess this story is a 3/5
Style: 1/5
I dont like it at all. The story is extremely hard to follow past the first 15 chapters because of the near constant narrative shifting between characters. It even wastes several chapters on interludes from characters the really have no business having more than one. Sometimes the story abruptly cuts at a cliffhanger and shifts perspective to another character thats currently doing something completely different. When perspective returns sometimes the cliffhanger was skipped and you have to.piece together from context what happened. The cast of characters very quickly baloons from 2 to 10+ people... This doesnt help with the constant jumping around. Half the time I dont even know if I am supposed to know the person from which the narrative is told...
Story: 4/5
So far its quite a good story, solid world building all good! Main plot is a bit generic so far but still quite interesting. I havent read enough to know for sure if it stays this way.
Grammar:
0 complaints. All good as it should be.
Character:
Mc and first few companions are intresting. But the number of characters baloons too quickly to be able to care or even comprehend most characters anymore.
Ive decided to drop this novel because it was too hard for me to read and still understand whats going on. (See Style as to why). I may come back to it in a month or so since this is easily fixable be the author to just focus more on the MC (Dei) and less on random side characters no one cares about.
If this is supposed to be like this where the mc gets like barely half "screen time" later on then may I suggest adding the multiple lead characters tag? Im thinking about all the mc's clone characters here. This way I would have instantly seen this and probably read something else (I dont mean this in a negative way btw. Some people for sure enjoy this, so if thats what you want to write then tag it correctly and then maybe more people that like this will find it and I can
