The Story

"Matrix" meets "Cloud Atlas" with a better story structure and lesson where the females get a share of the fighting.

Kar feels torn. Artificial intelligence is automating human thought via neural implants. After losing his girlfriend to an android—who captured her heart with algorithmic precision—Kar is forced to confront what he has become himself.

Kar helps Int, who is searching for her missing father in the desert after a failed time crystal experiment. Int believes the AI captured her father after he vanished during botched lab procedure when they were trying to create a time crystal with quantum teleportation which is a real science being researched right now.

How will they battle the AI when it's training through their mind-chips and knows all their thoughts. Will they continue upgrading or escape?

This story is only inspired by my real life gunslinging fights during my personal duels and feuds with enemies. It's also inspired by my personal experience helping children with disabilities, hoping medical technology will advance to ease their suffering.

The story does contain adult themes but it's not sexually explicit. The romance scenes are hidden inside allegory when characters mind-frag the dust out of each other. It's their new way of having intercourse through their mind-chips. They engage in chip to chip intercourse. Read along while you learn about what it's like for computer chips to copulate while learning about computer science.

This sci-fi story dives deep into worldbuilding right from the start, painting a vivid and immersive backdrop reminiscent of classics like Blade Runner and the cyberpunk genre. The author skillfully crafts a believable yet gritty future, where even a day without violence feels like a small victory. While the initial focus on establishing the setting is substantial, it proves to be intriguing. This is a decent start that has definitely piqued my curiosity, and I'm eager to see where the narrative takes us next.

The world is a fascinating, liminal world where everything takes place in the twilight zone of a tidally-locked planet. The concepts that I found most interesting are:
    1. The characters have AI implants, which render them powers but also a lot of risks. That's a nice tension
    2. The world itself is fascinating - I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the planet!
    3. The explosions are an interesting backdrop that hint at something more
    4. Without giving spoilers, the MC looks like she has a lot of potential to become very powerful. It'll be interesting to see what happens with her
Although there are grammar and story-telling issues, talking with the author it seems that these are just rough-draft ideas, so it fits. The characters are set, the world is built, and I'm curious to see what happens at the next stage of it.
    Great start!

The chapter shows impressive ambition in its worldbuilding. There's clearly a lot of thought behind the setting—concepts like neural mind-chips, solar storms, mech punks, and decentralized hydrogen tech make the world feel unique and complex. The writing voice feel experimental, even poetic at times, which adds to the sense of a stylized future.
That said, the story can be difficult to follow at first. A lot of the information is delivered upfront, which might overwhelm readers who are just trying to get a feel for the world and connect with the main character. Kar has some interesting moments, but it’d help to see more of his internal reactions and goals, so readers can root for him more personally. Right now, the emphasis leans heavily on lore and setting, rather than narrative flow or emotional stakes.
With a bit more character immersion and a clearer hook, this could shine. Definitely a strong foundation to build from!
Creative world, just need a little more grounding and character depth to truly land.
