As Emilio learns to navigate this new aspect of his life, he finds himself drawn into a world of secrets, intrigue, and danger. Forces beyond his understanding are at work, threatening to upset the delicate balance of power that keeps the magical world in order. - KazzleDazzleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The characters are insanely charming and plot is engaging
From chapter one it is clear who we are going to root for and the author does an amazing job getting the villain nice and hateable! The story itself is hard to predict which makes for an exciting read and the lore was new and refreshing. Was very confused for a bit but I like your funny words magic man!!!!
alSO NEW CHAPTER WHEN?
I binge read it and I need answers
It makes me want to make a playlist for the story
just some songs that remind me of the characters
I think that classical music would be best, as each piece of emotion you evoke in the story could be found in it. For some reason I really think Hall of the Mountain King would do a good intro, probably because it just FEELS natural to me. No pun intended.
I would give this story ten thousand stars if I only could.
The plot is original, characters have me by the hook, but also the style is so good! Smooth and easy to read. You're a great writer with excellent grasp on your grammar, and overal you couldn't have made me a happier reader! i hope to get a new chapter from you soon and hopefully some new stories as well!!!
On the edge of my seat until your next update!!! - Tofu_MURoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely beautiful story so far! The development of the magic system and characterisations of everyone so far have been wonderful, and have drawn me in immensely. With such potential shown so soon, I am thoroughly invested and hungry for more of this amazing world and its inhabitants.
I cannot wait for more chapters to be released :) - FabioKunRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0You know how you see a toxic family in a show and think "I wonder what I would do in their situation/I would like to experience that..." No? Just me? Ok let me explain.
The Style : The writing style is very clear, dialogues are separate into their own lines, so it is easy to understand who is speaking.
There are no action sequences yet but so far it has no need for one, because the shiver inducing nightmares and interactions more than make up for it.
The words flow extremely well, there are no unecessary pauses or overcomplicated descriptions, just enough to draw us into the world and let us enjoy it.
The paragraphs are well spaced and easy to read on any device(even the apple watch). It doesn't feel clunky at all and so far my eyes didn't feel like skimming at all.
The Grammar: For me its a 9/10, I'm not a native but I did notice a few mistakes which I assume are because of writathon.
The Story: We are introduced to the main character - Emillio Florian, the son of a baron. He was born Laik, a person who doesn't have the ability to use magic, magic being the equivalent of power in this world.
Right away we are shown his inner turmoil, his biggest insecurity in the form of his nightmare before he is woken up by his manservant. Later down the line we learn what being a Laik truly means given his status - Nothing. I won't give spoilers but I love where the story is going and I can't wait to see how he fares in a more complex situation.
The Characters: They always say to leave the best for last so that's what I did.
I simply love each and every one of them (yes, even the mother.) Although some characters haven't been fleshed out, it's obvious why in the later chapters, so let's discuss those that we do have fleshed out.
The MC : Our bestest boy. protect him at all costs. His life is simply miserable(lovely). No magic, a bastard(literally) younger brother, a mother who hates them both and losing his righftul place as heir. He is very relatable, he can't do anything but - Jack0fheartRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Nature's Whisperer is a story about Emilio Florian in a world where magic runs through every living being... all except him. One day, Emilio discovers he has the rare gift of being able to communicate with nature, leading him on an adventure full of magic, secrets, and danger, where he must find the strength to save his world.
Overall score 5/5: This is a beautifully written and deeply emotional story that is a captivating reading experience. The characters are complex and relatable, the world-building is vivid and immersive, and the plot is both engaging and thought-provoking.
Style score 5/5: The writing style is both poetic and immersive, with vivid descriptions that bring the world and characters to life. The author's attention to detail and ability to convey emotion is truly impressive, and the pacing is well-done, with just the right balance of action, dialogue, and introspection.
Story score 5/5: The story is a beautifully woven tapestry of magic and romance coming together to create a truly unique and captivating tale. The author does a fantastic job of building tension and suspense throughout the story, while also exploring complex themes such as abuse, trauma, and the power of family.
Grammar score 5/5: The grammar is impeccable, with clear and concise writing that flows smoothly and is free of any obvious errors.
Character score 5/5: The characters are complex and multi-dimensional, each with their own unique struggles and motivations. Emilio, the protagonist, is a particularly attractive and sympathetic character, with a compelling backstory and a heart of gold. The relationships between the characters are well-developed, and the author does a great job of exploring the dynamics of family and friendship.
In conclusion, Nature's Whisperer is a must-read for anyone who loves beautifully written and emotionally engaging stories. With its rich world-building, complex characters, and thought-provoking themes, this book is sure to leave a lasting impression on - JackdawsAndSparrowsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0At the time of this review, I can firmly say that Nature's Whisperer is one of my favourite stories on this site. It combines strong style and immersive worldbuilding with realistic-feeling characterisation, and as such this charming piece of work should be near the top of any magic-lover's 'To-Read' list.
Style:
The author is able to describe the happenings of the story with great clarity, making the writing easy to follow without at any point needing to remove any of the substance from what is said or described. Both the action sequences and the casual conversations feel real and plausable, neither being over-embellished nor lacking in any department either.
Story:
Excellent worldbuilding, fantastic premise, brilliant execution. The MC's discovery of a new and hitherto unknown power unique to them sets him apart in his society, just as much as being a 'Laik', or manaless individual, did. Still, despite the adversity he faces, there are still good people around him that, I am certain, will help him as he needs it.
The background knowledge that his family's barony may be subject to a succession crisis that neither potential heir wants is also an excellent example of medieval-esque storytelling.
Grammar:
One or two mistakes did pop up every now and again, but I believe this can be attributed to the writathon. Those chapters released post-writathon have few, if any, grammatical errors, and I would not be surprised to find that most of the grammatical errors from earlier chapters have already been edited and corrected.
Characters:
Oh boy, here's the fun bit. The MC may not be the strongest in this world, and he knows it, but he doesn't let that stop him. He doesn't let people push him around, he is capable of setting boundaries and not allowing others to run roughshod all over him, but at the same time he still retains his compassion for others. He's an excellent example of someone dealt a bad hand in life who's trying to make it all work out, and with the discovery of - CobbaltRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Seems like a Druid born in a Magic World story. I'll be honest, a large part of why I like this is that I like druids and druidcraft a lot. But, I'm also really not looking forward to another MC who's constantly looked down upon by everyone he meets a la xianxia trash MCs, only to find a girl who sees him for who he really is and becomes his jade beauty. I'm also not seeing a window for him to clear his name anytime soon given that Druidcraft seems unknown in this world. But, eh, I'm cautiously optimistic.
- LadyFffireRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5We love familial abuse for the sake of character development!!!
The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is that the hatred of Laiks makes no sense. Pity? Yes. A superiority complex? Maybe.
Especially when we're talking about prideful nobles that already believe they're above the talented commoners yet it is clear that he does have some form of magic even if it's not the usual.
Another issue could be my general lack of knowledge of the magic systems, though that may be mostly my own awful memory and not that we haven't been told about them.
Overall? You should go read it, definitely worth the time and seems like it's shaping up to be incredible although I hope they don't make the character too overpowered.
They did make him very good at swordmanship (beating on of the best duelists in the class via pure swordmanship even though his body is weaker due to his lack of mana???). Why would their swordmanship even be feasible for use by a Laik if they're so disliked and useless. Wouldn't their sword styles be centered around their magic styles?
If you can ignore some of the more unusual parts then it's definitely fab! ~w~ - Willows OasisRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I do not judge books based on singular factors, and this novel proves that. This book has amazing character and world development, I however was not expecting the sly introduction of the main character being gay. Now I have no problem with such characters, simply it seemed a little out of place, the character was originally portraid as a young resourceful kid that has had to overcome adversity in his otherwise glamourase life style, allowing a connection to form between the reader and the protaganist. That however is when this odd sexual tension rears its head, and i feel that it is quiet out of place and detracts from my enthusiasm and connection with the story and its characters.
- shallpabRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Personally, I like the premise, the characters’ dialogue, the story telling, the character’s. but some (possible) love interests are too cheesy and feels forced for my taste. This novel has the potential to be a good one even without the possible romance but I think it’s one of the unique aspect this novel has that the author is trying to develop.
im not good with expressing to give a solid feedback. all in all, the novel is quite good except for the romance part and MC’s current underdog personality - Deafy95Royal Road★★ 1.5Too much of the character development is stagnant for the main character. Some side characters are forcefully put in and not naturally written. Tension is all over the place and not consistent. Good idea but needs better construction consistency for at least three major side characters. I also think if you’re going to make something a rule “equality school” and mention it so much than make it that way. Keeps being mentioned but not followed which just makes it too much thrown in the face of readers. If it doesn’t matter, mention once and leave it alone.
