Description

The Grand Myth Retold.

Pangu split the chaos to create the world but sacrificed himself in the process. His corpses incarnated into all things. His eyes became the sun and moon, his breath formed wind and clouds, his voice transformed into thunder and lightning, his bones turned into metal, and so much more.

How could a world be bereft of life?

Numerous lifeforms came into being, including dragons, phoenixes, qilin, and, of course, gods. The mighty heavenly emperor, Di Jun. The kind creator of the Underworld, Empress Pingxin. The beautiful lunar goddess, Changxi. The heroic sun slayer, Houyi.

And most famous of all, the inheritors of Pangu, the Three Purities. Laozi, the Heavenly Venerable of Virtuous Way; Yuanshi, the Heavenly Venerable of Primordial Beginning; Tongtian, the Heavenly Venerable of Numinous Treasures. There was one teeny problem.

"Why the hell am I a girl?" Tongtian shouted at the heavens.

It's been so long that I've come to hate an author for not posting more chapter. Not like I want to complain, but it just how I love the story and can't help but to crave for more.
The story follow Tongtian, youngest of the three purities that supposed to be male but instead born as female. The story is nothing grand as it was a repackaged version of Chinese mysthical era. But the change perspective of female Tongtian and her attempt on resisting the heavenly fate is the things that make the story interesting.

This novel is pretty unique, starting at basically the beginning of a universe creation, with the main character near the top already. It's a breath of fresh air compared to all the other novels, mostly containing protagonists that start at the very bottom, allowance for a different kind of storytelling experience. It's good.

Edit to turn this into an advanced review:
Style: Style wise you can really tell they reaserched their stuff. While I haven't really read any great desolation novels, I have read quite a few cultivation novels, and the way the story is written and how the characters talk really fit the style of these novels. This style helps to remind the reader of the setting this novel is set in, which really helps develop some of the MC when they clash with it, which I'll get to in character.
Story: Story wise you can also see the research that went into the setting. The plots you encounter fit it perfectly, but are told in such a way to still be very interesting, especially with our MC's situation throwing a wrench in what seems to be an otherwise choreographed play. We have yet to really see this yet, but the hints of it are interesting, and the way the story occasionally highlights how the small differences in our MC have affected it are fun to read.
Grammar: I'm just going to give this a 4-1/2 and move on, I myself don't see anything bad enough to detract from the story, and am not a good judge of it myself since I'm terrible at it, so I'll just say it's good.
Character: here we get into the meat of it, and what I enjoy most about this work and wish to see developed even more as the story progresses. The personalities we see in pretty much every character besides the MC fit the world and style of story as we expect. The feel like they fit into the setting of the story, and while we haven't gotten much more development for any of the characters besides them having unique but fitting personalities, (cause it's still the beginning of the b

A classic cultivation novel, but with a twist. The MC doesn't starts at the bottom, but at the top and remains there all the way through. It's a what if the story was told from the POV of one of the supreme beings who control the flow of the world, rather than someone trying to defy heaven and change their fate. This is especially tasteful for those who enjoy translated Xianxia CNs as this has a very similar style. As a whole, it's a series that makes you come back for more.

    Review as of chapter 37.
The style of this serial is designed to feel like a traditional foundation myth, and pulls it off incredibly well while still maintaining interest and characterization. The tone of the narration is meticulous and executed with significant skill.
I honestly don't know if it's for everyone, but I'm thoroughly impressed and would recommend giving it a try - especially if you've ever enjoyed reading traditional myths and legends from any culture.

I loved this story, the rythm is fluid and takes you along in a journey through the retelling of the creation myth of ancient china.
The dialogs and the plot also seem pretty well constructed.
I really like the explanation of the cultivation system and the powers and skills of the characters. It never feels like an infodump and more like a natural part of the story.

This is engaging and entertaining, there's hardly complaint I could give about the story itself. I would say this is something only people that are at least nominally interested in the Xianxia genre as well as chinese mythology would enjoy. I can recognize that the appeal isn't immediately obvious to most. Especially as some terms that might seem obvious to some long-standing readers of the genre might be more confusing to others. I am part of the former and I still get confused from time to time with the exact ranking differences between spiritual treasures, as an example. There's perhaps only one advice I could give to the author, and some have already suggested this in the comment sections, it would be a glossary of terms or an explanation of terms used with an author's note at the end of relevant chapters

An amazing story based on chinese and buddhist mythology. Of times when gods and demons roamed the world.
As someone who didn't have the opportunity to learn about most of those legends before, i would highly recomend it as an introduction to chinese creation myths.
Although in this novel a wrench was thrown into the Way of Heavens' plans, in the form of a modern person beeing reincarnated as one of the most importarnt figures. Reasons for the reincarnation are one of the many yet unsolved mysteries. Was it by chance? It certainly doesn't seem to be that simple.
Will they be able to change destiny with their limited meta knowledge? Learn the secrets of the world? That remains to be seen, but i highly enjoy Her perspective on the events taking place, while getting to know more about Great Desolation and those living there.
Mysteries are pilling together as the story progresses, and the events of the original timeline get changed ever so slightly. But everything seems to serve a purpose, as pieces of the puzzle start falling into place.
Like i said this novel is a pleasure to read and it fast became one of the stories i wish to learn more about, looking forward to each update.

This is a Chinese cultivation novel that seamlessly integrates elements of Chinese mythology into its story. The novel follows the journey of the protagonist, a person from earth who transmigrated into the mythological figure Tongtian. The author does an excellent job of blending the cultivation genre with Chinese mythology, giving readers a unique and immersive experience.
One of the standout features of the novel is the rich world-building. The author has created a vast and intricate world filled with ancient sects, powerful immortals, and deadly demons. The incorporation of Chinese mythology adds depth and complexity to the story, making it feel like a true journey through ancient China. Similarly, we notice now that the presence of a new soul in Tongtian's body causes the typical sections of mythology to now vary, and is very well-written.
The characters in the novel are also well-written and likable. The supporting characters are also well-developed and add to the story in meaningful ways. The relationships between the characters are well-written, adding a layer of emotional depth to the story.
Overall, "Mythic Cultivation: My Tongtian Can't Be This Cute" is a must-read for fans of the cultivation genre and Chinese mythology. The author has done an excellent job of blending these elements to create a unique and immersive story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Highly recommended

I have read a few cultivator stories and this one is becoming one of my top favorites. The MC starts at pretty much at the top of power and so far isn't far behind any organization. Curios to see where the story is going. Also like the lore the author has created for the world and different characters in it. If you like cultivator stories this will be a good read for you!

Mythic Cultivation is a story about the chinese (maybe from good party of Asia) creation myth. For some people that doens't anything about it, this story might be a little hard to get used to but I swear it's worth a try. It's the better of the genre that I ever read, explaining well the events of the myth so far.
    Style
Some people may have problems here, since it is not very conventional and little narrative at first (this improves in the course of the chapters). And it also presents several points of view, which may annoy those who prefer to accompany the main character in the largest /totality of the time.
    Story
It is where I believe this webnovel shines. Although not entirely original, it recounts the events of the Great Desolation much better than several Chinese-cultivation novels. As I said, it may seem a little confusing but it is perfectly possible to understand the sequence of facts and progression so far.
    Grammar
There is some typos and syntax errors, but it is fully legible. Much better than MTL.
    Character
First, the MC (Tongtian): The protagonist is probably a guy from Earth but don't have almost any memory from there, except some events that will happen in the Great Desolation in the future. Don't worry with the gender bender thing, it plays a minor role that almost certaily will not take to romance. In relation to the personatility of Tongtian, some people criticized her inaction but she doens't have a motive to make a fuss in the Great Desolation. She reincarnated as a big-shot of the world and is also limited by the Way of Heaven, so the best course of action is stay quiet. In general she is pleasant and I crave for more screen time for her.
The others: The characters are better than the average of chinese culture novels. They don't have incredibly unique motivations, but they serve the story set.
    Overall
This may not be the cup of tea for everyone, but you don't know until you try. I definitely recommend giving it a shot.
    PS (for the author):
