Description

It's almost Christmas, and Lacey is still working. Love? She doesn’t even have time to meet the new neighbour. But when she wakes up in a snowdrift in Santa’s Village after falling and hitting her head, she knows it’s time for a break. Even if it means making toys in Santa’s workshop.

Then, a fellow workshop elf vanishes, and Santa instructs Lacey to find her. Except, Jinxy has a reputation for disappearing, and nobody takes Lacey’s search seriously. Even Peter, the handsome dark-eyed village guard, is far more interested in Lacey than finding a flighty elf.

That’s fine. Lacey’s used to solving her own problems. That’s how she prefers to lead life anyway. Now, if she can only get Peter to stay out of her business, things would be perfect.

But with time running outand Jinxy nowhere to be found, she might need to trust someone after all.

A festive romantic comedy with snowflakes, a missing elf, magical mishaps, and one very determined heroine.🪶 About Use of AIThis story iswritten by a human. I am really enjoyining this so far. This story is bringing that feeling of Christmas nostalgia back. This is more contemporary Christmas fantasy romance and not litrpg as I was expecting from her other books. At the moment I'm sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for the mystery to be solved.

I'm a sucker for cozy romance novels, and who doesn't love Christmas? If that's what you came for, that's what you'll get. But I'll break down the reason for a 3 star review below.
This book has a lot of plot potential, but failed to grab me. For me, the FL didn't move my heart with her back story. There should have been more feeling in it. As far as the present, her entire personality can be described as 'helpful' and 'likes numbers.' Meh. Give her a flaw, give her a dog, give her something. The conflict in the first chapter amounts to "she's running late." Meh. That's shojo anime stuff.
So yeah, 3 stars. Good enough. Not for me. But best of luck to the author. There's potential here.
