- MarilkethRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The plot is simple. It sticks to traditional litrpg rules and it is.... Consistent! So many stories these days arent even internally consistent. I want to see where this story goes.
We could use more of the MCs personal feelings.
The descriptions of the durrounding are udually very good, sometimes could be filled out more. The parents could have more character development. I would be down for more adult content as well. - AzurathRoyal Road★★ 2.0This story is about a man who loves video games and the thrill of leveling up, gaining rewards and experience. The man reincarnates into a new world that has a very typical high-fantasy setting; Dungeons, awakenings, system?, ruled by strength etc.
Style: The story is in first person point of view and the main character seemingly talks to us. The interactions are also made in what I call the script speech, ex.
Mom: Come to dinner!
Me: Coming!
The author also uses many abbreviations which in my opinion, kills the flow. There are also many info dumps.
Grammar: Nothing special about the grammar, the spelling is generally correct and words are usually worded and put together well. There are the occasional mistakes but everyone makes them.
Story: The story is seemingly good, there is nothing to say about it other than the pace is fast, so if you like that, great.
Character: The MC is inconsistent, the characters don't feel like real people and more like robots.
Overall: The story is readable and if you like this type of stories, who am I to tell you no. I personally disliked this style of writing and the info dumps and abbreviations were not making it better. I think the story has potential and I recommend you atleast read the first three chapters and decide if you like it or not. - StoicGuardRoyal Road★★ 1.5This story... dangles so many promising ideas in front of the readers, and then underperforms. Then, there is the very hamfisted sexual content that felt really cringy to read. I want to like this story, I really do. The idea of everyone having some form of super power/cultivation method and the main character getting his own RPG System sounds like a fantastic premise... but then there's a few issues that reoccur.
Spoilers below in critiques, I tried to use the tag for anything revealed beyond initial exposition but mid sentence spoilers doesn't really work well and the spoilers are the source of many gripes. I wish to state, I do enjoy this story and encourage it to improve:
First major gripe- the gimmick of the main character is that he has a system. That's a beautiful concept for a main character. Then it is further complicated by the additional gimmick of
receiving all elemental attributes
in his system immediately upon receiving the system. This is power-level breaking. I can forgive this over-powered bonus to the main character because it's clear that the main character is meant to be over powered and a Gary Sue. Contrary to the main thrust of this gripe, though, is the lack of system abuse from the main character. He has a system which gives him a run down of his stats and attributes while also giving him the ability to
cultivate ALL ELEMENTS for a bonus to related stats.
Yet this main character flat out refuses to
cultivate Water
because... it's lame? For real? Not to mention he has found
not only primary elements (wind, water, fire, earth) but secondary elements (lightning) and auxiliary elements (light, dark, chaos), but he has yet to specifically investigate other biomes or locations where he can identify and exploit other elements for free bonuses?
There is no narrative reason for this decision by the author. Especially considering there's an entire chapter 1 set before the main character is reborn in this fantasy world which specifically indicates that
