- roddan93Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like this story. The MC seems likeable but sadly I see the potential for him to become a douche with a generic harem just because he is the MC. Hopefully this won't happen.
Otherwise keep up the good work and I can't wait to see how this unfolds in the future. - HimRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So first of all, I rated this story 5 stars, it's not a 5 star story but you know royal road algorithms, if its below 4,5 its thrash. And this story isn't thrash.
So to be honest I was bored and wanted to read a time sink brain dead power fantasy. And I saw the title and guessed why not.
And I got what I wanted, but hear me out, its actually good. You see this story is a pure power fantasy, the MC is a mary sue, theres no set backs. But the execution is great. It doesn't sell itself as something better. It knows what it is and do it correctly.
This is a good power fantasy. Now for some this is an oxymoron, but if you want a power fantasy go ahead.
Now that the intro is done, let's get to it.
Style : the style is similar to a Chinese power fantasy, some code from the style are taken but the author as a good grasp on the pitfall of those book and so far he has done well to dodge them. There a reason crap Chinese power fantasy succeeds , it's the style, and this oh boy does it have the style.
Story : well the story is quite average, it's a power fantasy, there no intrigue and little plot. But I appreciate the fact that the story starts 1 week after the isekai, so there that air of mystery that had me hooked.
Grammar : as you might have seen, my grammar is bad, I'm dyslexic and I tend to not see mistakes. If I see some it usually means there a lot. Sadly I have seen typos. It doesn't bother me as there was very little times I've seen some but I'd say this story need a proof reader.
Character : this is a weak spot for the story for me. The MC is a mary sue and always confident. The cast is seeing him as a prophet or as antagonist. The world seems to revol6around the MC. Now I need to be a bit more nuanced, the MC is a mary sue as he has a system, and it's a power fantasy. The way the cast interacts with him like a prophet is normal, he is a prophet to them. And the world seems to spin around the MC because he is everywhere, and
His gf has her own life and is quite i - ExBlazERoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Disclaimer: I don't know if the author is actually a teenager. The title's a joke.
It's a truly wonderful story where the MC is dimension-blinked to a parallel earth where it's ten years in the past and various blockbuster movies of our world don't exist.
"It's free real estate." thinks the MC and dives into making those hit movies himself wih a friendly little system helping him along (with actually very little effect on the story aside from giving the MC a starting point for his movies).
And thus the story so far takes us through the process of making the MC's first movie with a surprising deluge of detail given to the actual process with timeskips used only when necessary. We are also given actual real world background on the filming of the movies mentioned.
A very informative and satisfying story, I would happily say.
And after the metaphorical marble mansion has been built with that masterful storytelling, the author himself then decided to fling excrement through an open window by adding a truly terrible romance subplot to the story.
In a typical Bollywood (read that word again) movie, a man and a woman meet, go through an adventure (usually a kidnapping or a powerful figure flexing his influence) with the MC emerging victorious and the man or the woman saying "I love you" at some point during or afterwards.
A similar thing happens in this story...
... where the MC and the lead actress meet, become friends, go through an adventure (specifically, a mildly traumatic horror movie filming)...
... and after the adventure, the woman says "I love you" to MC and then they go straight to banging.
Just like that. No dating phase. No holding hands phase. No kissing phase. Straight to banging. One and a half chapters of pure explicit smut (26 and first half of 27 for you perverts). And after that, it's back to the good story like nothing is wrong.
It seriously feels like this story was written by a horny genius teenager. A large part of the story is just pure satisfaction - RustencelRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I find this story to be well thought out and a very fresh take on things. I like the MC and think the way that the movies and ideas are revealed in the story are very well done. I am happy to have found such a refreshing feel good story.
- Taake The NobleRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5It's really good and the concept is interesting i like how the steps to making a movie are actually explained and not just a quick overview from casting to complete movie in one chapter.I think the chapters could be a little longer but I look forward to reading more. Good job
- Plastik289Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Really got me into it and had to stop for lack of chapters. Hope you keep the characters great and the interesting movie directing going the right direction.
And please try to keep the MC from going a harem route. Other than that keep up the great work I'm already hooked. - StomachfoodRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Like I said in the title this isn’t really all that good. It’s a barely glorified wish fulfillment fan fiction. The concept itself is not original and is a rip off of an Asian translated novel I am Really a Superstar.
But I can’t say honestly that I haven’t enjoyed reading it because I kind of have. It’s fills the same space a trashy soap opera or sitcom does where you know it’s not good but you keep watching it anyway because something about it keeps you there. So I can at least so you have something enjoyable even if it lacks the kind of substance that you expect in something good.
There are most definitely some stupid bits though. June and Wills relationship is way to shallow and was handled very poorly. It seems like you are trying to correct it after the fact but that won’t change that it is not a well done relationship plot. Really if you want to fix it you’ll likely have to rewrite a good portion of the sections they are in.
The whole Harry Potter rewrite thing is also a pretty bad idea. Rewriting it to fit the new reality makes sense and is a reasonable thing to need to do. But you took it too far and are just using it as an excuse to push a fan fiction in a fan fiction that differs way too much from what made the original a sensation.
Tldr - bad but has a little somethin somethin - SkancecaRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Before I start the review it has to be clear, that this story at least references "I really am a Superstar" quite heavily, the author even mentions the main character in the first chapter. I won't compare both stories, as it's against royalroads guidelines, but it should be noted. The 4 stars given is mainly because the quite inflated ranking system and to not let the stroy die, as it's not bad.
Let's start with the overall style. I'm not a big fan of it. The pace is quite fast, almost too fast. The author is skipping months ahead in some chapters and then continues to write R-18 scenes in chapters which are among the longest ones. The whole stroy reads less like a fiction, but more like a report of a successfull person.
The story harmonises well with the style, but I don't mean that in a good way! The main issue becomes clear quite fast: There is no conflict in the story. Every stroy need some conflict, let it be an antargonist, unrequited love or any kind of obstacles in the way of the main character. There are just none in this story. Everything works out right away.
There is not antargonist, no rival or anyone similar, the first woman he meets is the one falling in love with him and he doesn't need an interview, he knows a guy who introduces him to a whole filming crew and the main female lead for his first movie in the first few chapters. There are no problems hiring actors or anyone.
Like I've written earlier, the whole thing reads like a success report. It is an okay outline, but to publish it, you need something to get a reader invested in the story.
The world itself isn't really built up at all, it is just an "alternate world to ours". Meaning, if the author needs something from our world for their story, that's there, but everything else isn't. That's ok. It works out without having anything to do for it, but don't expect amazing world building.
The characters are about as fleshed out as the story and the world. They get a background as soon as it's needed - Mash_PotatoesRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Just as the title says, the story follows the basic premise of the MC arriving in another world, a different version of Earth, and in doing so gains a power (i.e. System) that allows him to blitz his way to the top in a short time span.
It is not a very complicated story, hardy unique, paced rather fast, the characters are not very well developed and grammar and dialogue could use some work. Despite this though, it still is a rather relaxing/enjoyable story, though definitely more for those who prefer to binge read a mildly interesting story. For those that are looking for a more serious story where they can properly invest themselves into the plot and characters, this is definitely not the story for you. - dhep09Royal Road★★★ 3.0This story has a lot of promise, but the chapters need a lot of editing to fix them up. Also, the chapters could have a lot more detail, be more descriptive.
I think that this Hollywood setting could also be improved by having more dialog between the characters. Not only would this help build the characters, but the industry is a very social one built on connections.
