A reincarnated astronaut in the body of a goblin king will stop at nothing to reach the moon
Engineer, double amputee, and now astronaut for NuEarth LLC. Chris is about to complete his life-long dream of being the first man to moonwalk on prosthetics. At least until his rocket explodes on launch.
That should have been harder to walk off than losing both his legs, but instead he finds himself in a new world and a new body - one that's three feet tall, covered in blue fur, and has the ability to command the absolute loyalty of any goblin he meets. Removed from everyone he's ever known, the one familiar element to this new planet is that it's got a moon, too. A big one, with forests and seas. And Chris sees no reason why a little something like death and reincarnation should get in the way of his goal.
Armed with an expanding army of fanatical followers and a dubious, self-propagating 'Goblin Tech Tree' managed by an enigmatic system with its own motivations, he'll stop at nothing to jump-start the Apollo program and fly to the moon. But he was brought to the new world for a reason, and not everyone is content to leave the goblin king to his own devices. Chris will have to keep his tribe alive and growing through if he hopes to complete his derailed moon mission and solve the mystery of his second life.
What to expect:
A (mostly) lighthearted fantasy adventure about exploration, problem solving, faction building, and primitive technology development.
Updates: 3-5 times per week. Patreon currently12chapters ahead.

- flaxennote8Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really enjoyed this story and found myself drawn into it from the start. The characters are well written and feel believable, which made it easy to stay invested in what was happening. I did feel a little sad at the ending and part of me wished there had been an epilogue, but at the same time I respect the way the story wrapped up. It felt thoughtful and intentional, and it left me reflecting on the journey instead of just looking for closure.
The pacing worked well for me. Some parts might feel a little slow to certain readers, but I liked the balance. The slower moments gave the story space to breathe and made the twists and turns hit harder when they came. I thought the unpredictability was one of the strongest points. I never felt like I knew exactly where things were going, which kept me hooked until the end.
Chris, or Apollo, the main character, has some solid growth throughout. He starts off as a bit of a risk junkie and sometimes doesn’t come across as super mature, but that made his journey more believable. He is still figuring things out, and watching him learn from the challenges he faced made him feel real.
I also liked how much attention the story gave to the technology and the problems that came with it. The technical issues and problem solving added a lot of tension and made the arcs feel connected. Each one built toward the conclusion in a way that felt satisfying.
Ad Luna - WormRogueRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fun, light-hearted, goblin shenanigans. Was so good, I didn't realize I caught up until I clicked "Next Chapter" and watched as absolutely nothing happened. The goblins are a somewhat hodgepodge of goblin stereotypes and unique original ideas that seamlessly fit not just the vibe of goblins but also the community's love of the furry little punks. Expect explosions, dubious "engineering" and goblin asexual "reproduction"*! 11/10 so far, I can't wait to see where it goes!
- 00_CreepRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Doesn't overstay it's welcome nice and quaint, and it accomplishes literally every thing a story like this should.
Simple to a fault, and in this case a good thing. By the end i am left with no questions only the feeling that all the i's have been dotted and all the t's crossed. - BlueWaterstoneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've read a lot of isekai stories. This one is the most fun by a large margin ! It also has some good world building, interesting characters and so on... But most of all, it's light and fun. Just puts a smile on your face. Thank you for that, amazing goblin king inventor !
- DavidVerneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of those awesome fun series that’s a pleasure to read. There’s a special place in my heart for kingdom building and the lesser monster races, ie kobolds and goblins. This scratches all those itches and has become one of my new favorite stories on the site. I highly recommend giving this a read.
- GeekdumbRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Oh these wacky goblins. I’m really enjoying the adventures of King Apollo and his unbelievable quest to get to the moon using the Goblin Tech Tree. A very creative take on goblins, their society, and all the things they invent that go boom. Sometimes it’s even on purpose! The world building is interesting and the characters are fun. I’m not sure how long it’ll take them or how they are going to do it but I believe that if they don’t succeed then these goblins will land among the stars!
- GrandtheftdragonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Gather round while I sing of a king named Apollo
A goblin whose leadership
Is all about rocket ships
Many will die for the tech tree to follow
"I'll make them back next week" says Goblin Apollo
Some say his R&D is negliglent
But rather it's goblin intelligent
Once the rockets are up, who cares where they fall
That's one step for goblins whose feet are too small
Some can't appreciate the brains of his court
But such gross inaptitude
Should endear some gratitude
Like the wizards and mages of old habberport
Who magical tower is now a spaceport - HodhandrRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is complete.
I read it all, snapping up each chapter as soon as I could read it.
Is it good? Yes, absolutely. I have no major gripes, nor have I particularly noticed spelling mistakes or other minor issues, aside from what can be expected, but even those get fixed soon enough.
So what's it about? Would-be astronaut gets isekai'd as a goblin, and through the power of (goblin) science seek to reach to the local planet's moon. There's a deeper story which I won't spoil that pushes the story forward with some urgency, and a good depth of worldbuilding.
So yeah, try it out.
You should know within a few chapters if this is your thing or not.
(Or perhaps more like 10+ chapter, since you get to binge it!) - Isa BayfieldRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like this plot very much. Just wanted to look into the first chapter and read later. Not happening.
This plot is very well written, flows beautifully and once you start reading, you are hooked.
I found the approach to Goblins in this plot very refreshing. They are still the simple kind, often hillariously so, but when their king gives an order off they go. Which sometimes is quite effective, sometimes just incredibly funny.
The king... he was an engineer in his previous life, but sometimes you wonder If his being a Goblin now clouded his mind a bit. But it fits.
This story is very entertaining and I am looking forward to where it leads. - LinclerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Yeah, what a blast!
Got me there and I could avoiding wetting myself.
Just finished the first chapter and i want more, but first some Feedback.
Great set up and a good start. I am itching for more, good humor and I think the next chapters will hitting the right spots.
Thanks for this and keep it up.
