Description

Adventurers flock to massive crypts brimming with riches and promises of power. Heroes storm the gates of dark fortresses, their swords drawn in the name of freedom. Gods tear the heavens asunder, clashing over the fate of the realm itself. Arek cooks lasagna and tops it with a dash of finely chopped basil.

Arek never wanted to fight again, but his plans have gone awry in the best way possible. After joining the Happy Sunflowers as their cook, Arek quickly grew attached to his new friends and party. After escaping a strange dungeon by the skin of their teeth, the group find themselves plunged into a struggle for power that has simmered beneath the kingdom for dozens of years.

The strange power that has entered Arek and Ming seems to be spreading to the rest of the party, and none of them know what it wants. Arek's past barks at his heels, but he has no plans of going back to the person he used to be. The future seems uncertain, but there is one thing the orc knows for sure. He has meals to prepare, and, this time, nobody is going to kill his friends.

All the recipes in this book are real recipes that I have personally made. The actual recipes will be included at the end of the chapter, and I highly encourage everyone reading to try them out. In addition, make sure to check out the Morcster Chef comic atthislink!

Morcster Chef: Reckoning is the 2nd book in the Morcster Chef series. You can read the first one on RoyalRoad atTHISlink.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Morcster Chef is a comedy / fantasy novel. It has equal parts cooking and Dungeons & Dragons style adventuring. It does not have: an OP / bitter protagonist, harems, excessively dark topics, or a depressing storyline. It is meant to be lighthearted.

If you looking for some good D&D dungeon/adventure stuff, while also have good cooking scene that even non-cooker can appreciate, then look no further than this (you can check some review on book 1 of this novel for more idea), and the author know how to balance between that so no either one get too much
like previous review said, each character are quite distint enough with their own antics, personality and their own story behind and some actual real life recipe you can cook at your home there in those cooking chapter, some are good stuff and even simple to do, too. And I can see in this book the plot get a bit bigger compare to book 1. The author have learn from some mistake in previous book so it will be better like have proper character voice and less grammar mistake
Since there are no review yet so I just give a quick one for him now, he don't mind constructive feedback and willing to improve as long as it just not full negative/bias there

Morcster Chef: Reckoning is awesome. A great sequel to book 1, I am still enjoying and looking forward to more. One of the best parts of the story is the cooking, but the cooking isn't the only reason that the story is so great. It is a full-on unique adventuring story with a complicated plot, great world-building, and a main character with a mysterious background. The cherry on top is the cooking, and it adds a really unique aspect to the story, and the author blends the cooking and adventuring life very well, by having Arek, the Morcster Chef, go dungeon diving to find ingredients for his dishes. Overall, the story is definitely really fun and cool, and the cooking aspect is just a great bonus!

Once upon a time there was an orc that cooked named Arek.
He was scouted by a group of adventurers called the Happy Sunflowers.
They were led by Malissa, who is now an apprentice of Arek.
Ming, the overpowered magician of the group, is the foodie who scouted Arek.
Belmont uses shield magic in the group and has a paranoid mentality that is sometimes helpful.
The Happy Sunflowers interact with various chefs and, in this installment, interact with a powerful magician named Magus.
This is the second book in this series and I strongly recommend you read the first one. :)

Who doesn't like an orc chef-adventurer?  Well, it seems like most of the humans in the cities don't like them too much.  Unless he is hiding as a magically disguised as a human to keep the general populace calm.  What they don't know can't scare them.  Plus his party members love his cooking, so everything is good.
Speaking of party members there is the walking stomach who sometimes pretends to be a mage with a personality that reminds me of a small woodland animal (chipmunk, definitely a chipmunk), the hyper-paranoid healer/shielder who has worked out a secret knock to make sure everyone is actually who they say they are (who doesn't need to worry if an enemy is pretending to be your party member when they wake you up in the morning), and a stabby damage dealer who has recently started learning to cook (wow someone who is almost seems normal.)  Sounds like an orc chef will fit right into a group like that.
