Mockery of Once Innocent Delusions is described as a portal fantasy isekai featuring military and drama elements, with multiple leads.
The first chapter opens with the protagonist, De Garcia, reflecting on the daunting task of serving as Lady Barbatos’s escort. What begins as a routine carriage ride quickly hints at a larger conspiracy brewing in the background.
Grammatically, the chapter is solid, though there are a few minor errors—particularly in the capitalization of titles, such as “My Lady.” While these didn’t detract from my reading experience, they stood out. I also found the chain of command in the story a bit unclear. For example, when the protagonist left Lady Barbatos at the call of another lord, it disrupted the pacing and made the scene feel rushed.
Overall:
Mockery of Once Innocent Delusions has a promising start, with a well-developed world and intriguing potential. The first chapter left me curious to learn more about the world and what lies ahead for the protagonist.
