Description
The forces of Yanksee have reached the dunes of No Man's Land with a great many men and machinery prepped for a Syndie massacre; a violent dispute long held over time between the continent's greatest powers. But as the conflict unfurls, other more unsettling deeds begin to emerge, as the world's greatest threat too marches in to advocate Sin and deliver uncertain and unwelcome fate upon the brighter land of Victus' followers.
Now more than ever, society will be made to understand that petty fights are foolhardy as it tears itself apart before the real test begins.
This novel is a continuation of 'Mhaieiyu - Arc 1: The Syndicate'. It is recommended, but not obligatory, that you read the first instalment before this one.

- LinkTheKiwiRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'm liking this second part so far, on chapter 6, and yeah so far so good. Lot more actionpacked than the first one already which is refreshing. A big character death too wont say who because of spoilers but its important. Hardly anything of tokken though not sure if it'll be like that most of the arc but its still early. Hope we get to see the big bad at some point
- ginacabelloRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Woa what a sequel. The writer has improved on so many weak points in Arc 1 The Syndicate. Theres is much more action than part 1 (a lot, the beginning is set in a battlefield) and more moving about while the characters in the first one seemed a little static. Speaking of characters, there is much less Token which is sad I kind of liked him but its focusing way more on Emris. However, some new characters come and some old ones go. Spoilers ahead:
Important characters die. General Kev dies, Erika dies and (maybe) Alpha, who has been left in a coma and most of the story goes around that: an empty throne. It shows that the writer isn't guilty of plot armor ands willing to make drastic changes which I find awesome. New characters are interesting as well. There's a bodyguard named Elior who is definitely up to something because he kills Kev, has an incredible scene with Emris little afterwards where he looks more than suspicious, and is clearly power hungry, want to see more o f him. Then theres Jack, who is kind of a demigod who messes with Corvus but then helps the heroes fight Noire which was great.
Mostly Its a story of subplots. Token has a subplot with Chloe and Mumble one of my favorite characters, Emris has a very odd subplot with his adopted daughter (Emris in this chapter as a whole behaves very strange ), Corvus completely changes and goes very violent after Erica dies. And then there's a political subplot after Alpha dies with a crisis in the syndicate leadership which ends with fely and Hephestus leaving (didnt care really).
guess we will see what happens next. In conclusion much much better than arc 1 with more action and wild things happening. I will be back for arc 3. I m liking this series a lot - eddwithersRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Having read Arc 1, i was hoping it would be continued. I was away from royal road for a while and glad to see that this new arc 2 is online. And its good! Very different from the first one. While that one was mostly worldbuilding talking and little action, arc 2 is full of it, starting straight away with a battle between the syndicates and Yanksse!
There are some things that i find a little off which is that now the main character hardly ever appears (maybe other reviewers on this site were too harsh about him so now hes secondary) and things still seem to be bogged down without progressing very much, but its fixed by presenting new interesting characters. Very very few boring characters in this story.
Big improvement over arc 1. Good job - Spooneye HaddockRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Well, the sequel to Mhaieiyu Arc 1 is finished and certainly delivers in many ways, especially when it comes to action. Much more death, more chaos... I have a few problems, however. Some of the main characters from the first book feel a bit downgraded, like Emris, I get nothing from him in this one, he just seems disorganised and all over the place but with no building (maybe some with his daughter but not much else), and like Alpha, I wont spoil what happens to him but he feels really underused and like the importance of him in the first book was for nothing. And especially Tokken, he's almost inexistent in this one. The best character in this one is Corvus, the only one who i feel really really changes and improves instead of being robotic.
The invasion of the bad guys started out good but I got really bored after a while of infinite monsters flooding the city. And the battle at the beginning felt a little dragged out, but still interesting.
If you are going to write an Arc 3 I hope you improve on some of those points. But other than that, well done.
P.S.: Note. Noticed that chapter 29 changes font for some reason every now and then.
