[MHA] [COMPLETED] Shoto Todoroki - Modern-Day Terrorist

Description
Reincarnated as Shoto Todoroki, I thought I hit the jackpot.
Being the child of a Hero was supposed to be a lucky drawn until I learned that from ten among us, three only would reach adulthood.
This world isn't the one I thought I knew : the strong do as they please and the world has to bend to their will.
In another life, I could have been a Hero - in this one, I will make the world bend until it breaks, even if I have to destroy myself in the process.------------This a dark, gore, more seinen than shonen fanfiction. If you're a bit sensitive or faint of heart, I strongly advise against reading this.
Otherwise welcome to your new favorite fanfiction.

- NoobieIndieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Our mc is very unique and the worldbuilding is unreal. The progression of the story is phenomenal and the character development is probably one of the best in fan fiction stories that I have come across in. Heavily recommend all of you to read this fic. The great part about the fic is also that the so called cheat our mc posses within him has consequences to the world around him and it also affects his private life in way you would not expect.
- ReaderboyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Coming directly here from webnovel because author is re-publishing his chapters in bulk there and I wanted to read the new updates.
I don’t really like posting comments in general but honestly the rating is insanely low for the kind of quality, update and world building that the author provides.
I strongly advise everyone to not believe the low rating and just read at least the first 3 chapters before making their mind.
Author, keep up the good work. - ToufikonthefluxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't usually post review but this one novel literally blow my expectations. The relation between the MC and this family, this character development was just so good (in my humble opinion).
Sure it's not the same shoto of MHA but if it was the same character what's the point then ? - rodrigo7923Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The mc is… troubled. He started like a normal person, as normal as a reincarnated one can be at least, but the situations he’s been through have made him change in realistic ways as the story progressed. He will become strong, but he is still very human and reacts to traumatic events in the same way a human would. He is kind of an asshole, he is kind of a sociopath, his personality can kind of grate on you sometimes, but you can clearly trace back any trait he has to something he has been through.
The other characters are very good too.The class wasn’t my favourite, but basically anyone we got to see the pov of (anyone important) I quickly understood and enjoyed.
For those that don’t like other povs, don’t worry they are few and the mc is almost always around in some way.
The world isn’t quite the same one as the anime, it doesn’t always follow the plot even when the mc isn’t involved. The story also adds some additions to the world that help flesh it out more.
We see more of the world outside of Japan (mostly indirectly) and I like what it adds to the story. Something I like quite a lot is that there are actual groups of villains, not just The League of Villains and Overhaul, but just unnamed but organised and well armed groups. We don’t dive into them, and don’t see more than one or two but we feel like they exist, they aren’t unique and any that appear just happens to be the ones that we see but there are more in the shadows.
This shows up much later and not for long but I just want to mention that it has the best depiction of both a prison and soldiers I’ve ever seen. Prisons in superhero stories have a… reputation, shall we say. The one we see in this story felt truly inescapable and worth the fear everyone, even the mc, has of it. That is really saying something cause there were mentions of it throughout the story and I just couldn’t take them seriously. It’s a prison, so what? After seeing it though? Wow. The soldiers on the other hand felt capable, we didn’t - GrimothRoyal Road★★ 1.5I like books of this genre. The prolouge and description for the book were great too. But after reading 11 chapters of this book I have to give up. The book jumps around constantly and seems to not make much sense. Like quirks are called alters. Sometimes the names of the MC and his family are mixed up making things confusing. Then the story changes in no way that makes sense. Last thing is that the author says that their is lots of foreshadowing which I think would be great if it made any sense.
- FaercesRoyal Road★ 0.5I don't even know where to start with some of my gripes with this story because I'd have to finish and I'm not sure when.
This starts off with a toddler arc, which is like, alright, but cmon. I'm not going to lie the story started to lose me here and I just was not invested or sold on the lazy worldbuilding and character interactions afterwards. I also think the quality worsens considerably as the story progresses and slowly loses it's unique charm. This is partially due to the weird formatting that keeps switching every chapter, and makes everything difficult to follow and read through. It was a legitimate challenge trying to immerse myself in the story.
What this also doesn't do well is capture Todoroki's character effectively, you have this unique fleshed out character with goals, purpose, and a drive and it just feels like someone else entirely. I mean, for crying out loud it's in the title.
All in all, a very odd read, but I would only recommend if you're a fan of MHA because that seems to be it's target audience even if it takes time to get through.
