- Underwood EmperorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This refreshing to me since I'm quite tired to see a same genre all day. So I'm happy to this one and I'm very thankful for the author, it gave me an idea how to improve my writing skills, since I'm not particularly good at literature.
If you ask me the flow of the story? Yeah it's good and you cannot always base it in review. All you need to do is read it and have you're own opinion. - edward scissorhandsRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is both a Cultivation and Gatcha story. Both categories are easy to get into and a challenge to get done right. This author manages to combine the two categories into something that is the strength of both, while avoiding the pitfalls and weaknesses of the individual genres. The worldbuilding Is vivid, detailed, and easily visualized. The character has meaningful relationships with other people around them. The supporting characters are not two dimensional like oh so many cultivation novels. This story makes the characters introduced have a real life outside of their interactions with the main character. Each chapter so far makes you think and wonder how the next chapter will turn out. This keeps us readers invested in the story and wanting to read the next chapter as soon as it comes out. The upload schedule is both consistent and maintains the high writing quality of each chapter. In regards to the grammar, I have noticed very few mistakes. Even when rereading chapters I have no problem reading and understanding what is being said. I must say that overall this has been a wonderful read and I look forward to each new chapter released. This has definitely earned a spot in my list of favorites on this site.
- Chan OppaRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I usually dont favor xianxia novels...
That is i don't like the standard heavy handed approach of xianxia stories full of lifeless and colorless cultivation approaches...
I mean if you have seen one standard xianxia novel then you have seen them all..
However, introducing the concept of mecha in the cultivation world puts a new perspective and is a breath of fresh air in the genre..
I hope the novel will not disappoint and so far it is very interesting...
Goodluck with the story and i hope you give us some more surprises...also try a bit of humor to spice the story...kudos! - fishsandwichRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Your standard reincarnation into a Xianxia style novel plus gacha based mech suits. It is a slightly intriguing premise, but not without flaws. The story itself is decently paced aside from a rather abrupt start, but the first flaw is the characters. Mainly the MC and village chief. They are cartoonishly awful and just do morally reprehensible things because they can. That goes for both the MC and the villains. To some extent this extends to anyone with any modicum of power. Basically they are cavemen in the wrong time period acting out might makes right. Society would not function in this world if this was the norm. That in itself is not that out of place for this genre of novel though. Though it doesn't make this a good feature though imo.
The second major issue is the grammar. It is not good. It is readable, but there are many errors, mostly homophones in every single chapter. That being the case, it is readable due to mostly correct sentence structure. A simple spell check would help a lot here.
The mecha/gacha system is also an issue although it has not really had much of a role besides giving the MC free stuff thus far. Power creep and exponential cost look to be an issue for the future. A more stepped solution would have preferrable and would also provide more interaction with the system if so desired.
In the end its a decent premise in my opinion, but let down by execution. Good for a quick afternoon read, but not much more in its current state.
