Description

The Knighthood shall die with me. Not because I would slay them. They were already dead, the useless lot, and I was the most useless of all. For I, Sir Henry Hildebraud of Mostenstein, was the last of the Knights of Saint Merin. And I was about to die. If only I had a sliver of magic, I could have fought back against those mages. But I had none. In a world full of magic, what could a knight like me possibly do with swords and shields? Ah, but what luck! Suddenly, a rock fell on my head, granting me a system . . . and I became a hundred times more intimidating. The not-so-lucky part, though . . . I didn’t get any stronger. The only stat that got multiplied was my Intimidation, an attribute I had never once asked for and could not, for the life of me, seem to turn off. Which would have been fine, if every time I spoke, I didn’t threaten to massacre the local populace against my will. Left with no choice, I, Sir Henry Hildebraud of Mostenstein, would have to survive by pretending to be the strongest man in the world. Fate, in its infinite mockery, decreed that I seek out the woman who supposedly knew how I could rise above this mess and restore the Order of Saint Merin to its former glory. Shame she was, by all reputable accounts, a total weirdo. WHAT TO EXPECT: Weak-to-strong Comedy (the terrifying kind, but still comedy) Accidental aura farming Super down bad love interest OP Intimidation Skill tree with insane downsides Dungeon grinding Knightly moral code Pathway-based progression system Power couple restoring the Knighthood (eventually . . .) This is a nice story to binge when you get tired of overcomplicated plots and just want a breah of fresh air.
The main character, Henry, is definately someone who readers enjoy following. A deadbeat knight struggling to survive in a world of magic stumbles upon a strange rock that gives him a system and powers.
Like, is there a funnier way to go about that?
The writing style is great, and you can really tell its Henry that is speaking cause of his newfound intinidating way of saying things
The only thing I'm uncertain about the story is that it might hit a dead end, which seems to be where it is headed. Of course, I have full belief that the author won't let that happen though!
Overall, this is a very light and enjoyable read. Readers who enjoy a nice comedic light read should definately check this one out!

The plot itself hasnt progressed very far, so I'll wait a bit longer before commenting on it, but so far its been an enjoyable ride.
Same thing for the systeme, its been ok so far, even though i'm not a big fan of systems.(i find them boring when used to forcefully make the story move foward)
I like how the relationship between mc and fmc is building up, and
I'm really relieved the author made the fmc mostly immune to the intimidation. It would have been boring if intimidation skills were just an excuse to force through every single interactions the mc had with other caracters.
I find their power dynamic hilarious.
Also the comedy tag isnt just for show, it's been getting progressively funnier.

The premise is simple. A magic deficient knight wannabe is granted extraordinary power by means of a special rock.
But Ser Henry doesn't gain spells, or strength of arms. He gains the ability to bluff and intimidate.
You'd think that's the core joke, but in reality the recurring gag happens to be the people who can't be intimidated. Whether it's the primitive slimes he fights, or the wizard he accidentally
    seduces
Henry finds himself trapped by circumstance and constantly out of his league.
    ---
The overarching plot is pretty thin so far. The MC doesn't have much motivation beyond a vague desire to embody his order, and to get stronger.
In terms of characters, the main relationship of the story is between the MC and his wizard companion. Most of the character work comes from his interaction with her. The story picks up when she arrives, and most of the humor comes from her particular personality as it clashes with Henry's best intentions and expectations. She's delightfully out of her mind.
Grammar is strong. Very few mistakes.
The diction of the characters is ridiculous. They talk like walking thesauruses. It's over the top and it's fun.
The only question is how long the joke can last before it gets old. The author is keeping it fresh so far, and clearly has more ideas in their back pocket. So we'll see.

Style: The writing has a strong, distinctive voice that balances humor with genuine tension. And I mean distinctive voice.  When Henry speak, you know it's Henry who is speaking. The narrator's inner monologue is consistently entertaining with self-deprecating humor. First person isn't my preference for reading, but even then, I didn't feel offputting at all reading throughout.Story: A knight who can't use magic, seen that many times. But this one is different, given Henry's specific skill sets. I actually like the slower start, reminds me of those old games I used to play, killing low level enemies (slimes, etc) to get any gains. I won’t speak much on the story, since it’ll be story, but definitely interesting start and development.Grammar: Easiest to write off. The writing is clean and almost too professional honestly speaking. Everything flow well, a bit too well.Character: The best part about this is the character, mainly Henry. He has a very distinct internal voice, as well as personality. From the humor to the way his skill was quite refreshing. As a matter of fact, that scene with the guard and when he met the village was extremely entertaining to sit through :>

I am thoroughly enjoying the tale. A completely, but not quite, clueless main character learning how everything works at the same time we are. I am enjoying the ride.
The engagement with the lady is interesting with enough mystery to wonder about her background and real desires.
    Thank you for the fun.

I wasn't expecting much when I started this. The premise sounded like every other litrpg on Royal Road:  guy gets a system, numbers go up, comedy ensues. I've read that story a hundred times. But when Henry tried to ask for a room at an inn and accidentally activated Silent Authority just by making eye contact with the innkeeper, I realized this wasn't going to be another paint-by-numbers progression fantasy. This was something stranger, and considerably better than it had any right to be. Then my Anabeth shows up and I fell in love with her immediately. She's the first person immune to his aura, and she's so shamelessly into him it gave me secondhand embarrassment. Watching her misinterpret every death threat as flirting while Henry dies inside is peak comedy, and somehow it works as actual character development too.
The prose has a real voice. The internal monologue works, the comic timing is solid, and when the story drops the jokes to play it straight, it earns those moments. The curses feel specific to someone who learned half his education from a drunk and has been alone too long.
The system mechanics are more thoughtful than most. Damage calculations are consistent, skills stack in ways that make sense, and combat sequences reward you for paying attention. There's real math happening, and it's used for characterization rather than just spectacle.
The dungeon crawls could occasionally trim some fat, there are stretches that run a bit long but the pacing overall works.
The grammar is clean. The character dynamics develop in ways that feel earned rather than forced. That's rare enough in web serials to be worth mentioning.

This was a delightful hugely ironic comedy. My next book is a comedy too so I'll be studying yours pretty hard.
Okay, so there's a gap between the title and reality here. Maximum Intimidation Knight turns out to be Maximum Coward with low self-esteem. It's brilliant instant comedic tension. Oh, but then there's "Intimidation Overload" which bridges this gap, making a terrified character speak like a mighty and terrifying warlord. So every interaction is hilarious because of how his internal monolgue (fear/politeness) clashes with his external dialogue (threats and dooooom). It reminds me of a manhua about a kid with a "demon face" who has a reputation for defeating a bunch of bullies in high schools he went to, but it was really all a bluff, that he'd freeze when confronted but his ugly face always made him look like he was glaring and he'd stare people down and they'd become his followers.
I love the voice of this guy. This right here:
Why in the boiling guts of the First Paladin would mages be in a Tier I Slime Dungeon? The boons are never worth it
It tells us a lot about the character. He's knowledgeable, cynical, and has some pretty unique profanity. He has a way of words... even when accidental like the "I'm gonna feed your future to the crows" accidentally coming out.
I love the premise of the wimp who terrifies everyone. This is a book about misunderstanding. A comedy of errors. I'm looking forward to see just how much trouble his mouth gets him in.
    Some tropes I enjoyed:
Accidental nightmare fuel. (I will unmake you so thoroughly your mothers will miscarry the memory of you)
The stats screen/blue box: It's a wonderful plot device here where he misinterprets INT and it leads to a debilitating buff.
Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: To the mages, Sir Henry is a hidden badass Ravenlord, but the reader and the MC both know he's actually a flailing, panicked moron.

Just finished reading Chapter 6, and this story is absolutely fantastic. The MC is borderline pitiable while at the same time immensely endearing. His internal monologue is downright hilarious as he struggles to make his way in a world that has been anything but kind to him. I love the creativity of the plot line, the depth of character being revealed in the MC, and the quality of writing (which is top notch). Highly recommend!

BEHOLD! Prompted as I was by the acquired knowledge that negative reviews have been placed with the intent of obfuscating the true quality of this read by those disheartened by its whimsical rivalry with some Mage novel, I have sought to even the scales! FIVE STARS! And verily I can attest that, title and whimsical rivalry notwithstanding as the impetus behind such a venture, this book is worth all five of said stars! Rarely do I partake in literature that is of the LITRPG/Blue Box sort, but Maximum Intimidation Knight has thus far proven to be an enjoyable read; a lighthearted read of an underdog knight disadvantaged, excepting for his recently unlocked skill. So I implore you ~ judge the book by its cover, and enjoy it!

The comedy is gold. I love how the system distorts Sir Henry's talking attempts. Also, his internal monologues are on point. His struggles show how weak and a bit of a useless knight he is, and at the same time make me root for him to get better and improve his stats. Except for his speech's, I hope he does not develops a way to control it.The story is on point for a comedy. Don't expect world changing events, at least not for the time that I wrote this review. It is a good story to relax, enjoy the ride, and not overcomplicate things. Reminds me a bit of the old Slayer manga and anime. The female MC (will not say her name, since it was part of the story) has this Lina Inverse vibe, with less fireballs, but the same unhinged way of seeing things. Which Sir Henry needs, since he can't talk normally with anyone. He is no Gourry, even if he is not the sharpest tool on the shed, he is not as dumb as Gourry. Now, I start reading the other stories from this author that are in the same verse to know more about the word.
