- Machine HellRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Finally a good mavel ficticion i read in MTNovel too and the author says the truth there is to much trash self inserted fanfic, seeing an actual good novel is comforting , Everything os reasonable and good there is no stupid Logic in here , Also its good that the cómic characters appear too
- Gear1483Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I dont tend to write reviews a lot lately but I had to noe because there was no review saying how good of a fanfiction it is. I like hoe the MC is not the usual goody two shoes, or naive idiot but instead an experienced man. I also like the story because there is no super op MC from the start. He has to work for it. I like the author's justification of the war arc but it could have been 1 or 2 chapter less. There are important things happening but you can speed read some of the historical things not involving MC or other super heroes or villians. and after the war arc, i have high hopes and expectations and I have a feeling that the author will make this a fine read.
- stepotRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Good things first: Positively surprised that the grammar is on point and mostly flawless. The only thing hampering readability are the other three categories.
Character: Describing someone as a genius does not make the character a genius per se, neither by them doing 'magic' on the blackboard and their lectures being like 'music' to the ears. Using the Omniscient 3rd POV and mentioning the MC's name only two thirds into the chapter—otherwise calling him 'bald old man' or some such—does not help in acquainting the reader to your characters either (I'd always recommend 3rd Pers. Limited).
To make matter worse, we get a sudden tonal shift in the second chapter, and are introduced to the MC, but now without a lick of his former genius. Instead, we get a lot of 'Holy fucks', stuttering and mind-boggling conjectures and conclusions that are drawn from thin air.
The MC denies any help from the god-like entity that resurrects him, on the premise: 'Higher risks = higher rewards', without any mention of such. It is just completely shoehorned into the story.
Three chapters in and suddenly the MC is a raging drunkard that lashes out at people. Excuse me, what?
Four chapters in and suddenly the MC is a hitman in NYC that doesn't flinch after taking a man's life... Now this is getting out of hand and ties directly into the Story Score.
Story: Abysmal pacing, as the prior section showcases. In less than a dozen chapters we go from genius scientist -> death -> resurrection -> drunkard -> hitman -> prospective soldier -> soldier, with barely any or no mention at all how these steps took place. Character development is completely left in the dust since the MC changes lifestyles every hot minute. Why not abridge it completely? Have him reminisce about his past while he's at bootcamp. Might be an easy fix.
Style: Apart from the narrative POV it is about on par with your average RR fic. - oridesuRoyal Road★★ 2.0Story sells an Interesting idea of a man going into marvel with just his witts and knowellege, thus quickly is proven not to be the case for all the author promised very little of it is delivered, what we get is a mc who goes from being a genius scientist who dies while presenting his research to a drunk and then the next chapter he's expertly killing 3 people and beating another to death, within a year he whent from old scientist to a hit man with 50 or more kills, to the army where he breaks records to being recruited for secret missions with Peggy Carter, and they bound over him treating her like a normal person.
The mc didn't need a super power he has plot armour the strongest power of all as if the last chapter I read the mc has:
Pefect marksmanship
Genius iq
Expert hand eye coordination
Exceptional cognitive processing speed
Higher than average strength
High combat ability
emotional control
And the rule of cool
What ultimately killed any attempt at reading this further was him going John wick mode while driving and one hand shooting a assault rifle perfectly hiting every shot that caused moterbikes and cars to crash and explode while taking out other baddies and his only injury? He gents a scar in his cheek from. A bullet grazing him.. As u said rule of cool mc is basicly a paladin from equilibrium. - Alan S KoshyRoyal Road★★ 2.0Pros:
Good Concept for the story. Not the regular braindead MC. Going to a mixed marvel universe without any goldfinger make it interesting.
Cons:
It feels like there is no flow in the writing style. More like forced writing for the sake of writing itself. Some parts just feels like a filler just to show off author's knowledge about marvel characters. Forcing characters into various situations
Just to show the MC is genius, some things are done, like making him a sharp shooter by 1 year. Before getting any power itself, MC just raise above others who may have skilled than him.
Forcing MC- carter relation into siblings. Like until that moment they act like they are lovers and suddenly make them siblings and make her wait for captian america for 70 years(probably).
Currently read only to 100 chapters. Till now didn't see any romance, so don't know. - AhmedLRoyal Road★★ 1.5This started off somewhat OK, had some interesting bits then lead to sillyness, like a woman gaining significant height and muscle mass in an impossible amount of time and somehow not being questioned. The biggest problem is I think the author ran into problems with what they wanted to do, and meandered too much, will check back in to see if it gets better...
- wakadooRoyal Road★ 1.0I feel like I’m in a poorly worded history lesson.
Why is every other chapter a recount of movies I’ve seen before but with new, unnecessary characters.
Also, character relationships suck. MC is a psycho and is in no way the “genius” that was promised.
Preachy, boring, out of touch.
