- ScarecroRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This novel looks to be well written overall with characters that are a joy to read about. The Main Character is starts off very unlikable for me, though I suppose that's intentional, and I hope he continues to improve. It's just not worth reading if he doesn't, but so far the story seems to be about his personal growth, and him rising to meet the challenges of his new life. I hope he improves enough to bring some happiness to those around him instead of screwing them over.
The plot is very promising, but only time will tell if this becomes one of the greats, or if it falls off like so many other promising serials before it.
I'm being forced to write more... The grammar and style are smooth and unintrusive enough for me not to notice it, so there isn't much more to ask for. My main hope is that the character interactions improve as the story gets more complicated rather that start to feel shoehorned to force the author's plot objectives. When I get to like characters I tend to quickly drop the novel if it feels like they are be being forced into increasingly unrealistically bad situations just to add more drama. So far this author seems to be able to make the plot interesting and show a lot of potential avenues for development while retaining plausibility. - mrelRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5It started off pretty well with an interesting scenario, though a bit narcissistic and suggestive. The story then twists to become something else. The MC seeks power and blood. Both the power seeking and blood-lust feels unnatural to me. The MC is slowly portrayed more and more as a villain, with no moral boundaries.
