Description
In the modern world magic is powerful but only works when no-one is looking. It's shy. It's also pedantic, confusing, and needlessly fussy. A group of middling independent magic security guards with no magical abilities and limited social skills discover magic might be less shy and more dangerous than anyone suspects. Their accidental success thwarting a magical crime draws the attention of mysterious and powerful forces that wildly overestimate them, making them unwitting players in a high stakes power play in which they are going to need more than their usualhalf-arsedlying to survive.

- cthrnRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't read often, but this series has me hooked! The writing is witty and refreshing - It often reminds me of the kind of humour back home in New Zealand. If you're unfamiliar with Kiwi humour, one might describe it as having equal elements of unhingedness and deadpanness. It's crack up.
The story itself brings a fresh take on 1) magic, and 2) magic in our modern world, which is super interesting and straight up hilarious. The characters are quirky, scruffy, and lovable - You read the choices they make and think "what the actual?" and also can't help but root for them.
It's a delightful series, give it a read!
