Description
What happens when a pessimistic mage fails at magic school?
Among the diverse people of the ancient fantastical city of Athfens is the Mage August. He must fight his way through mages, monsters and worse to thrive among the cruel. There are no heroes in this story, it is a question of how long can he live. No one can escape death.
An original dark fantasy adventure in first-person present-tense. It is a cynical take on power fantasy stories.

- Icarus JaadiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5It started off with an interesting detailed battle scene that took my interest. The author took his time by writing descriptive actions and inner monologues to further illustrate the events in the story. Though there are times that I was lost due to long sentences midway, or maybe I wasn't just used to this kind of writing style.
Style: Thoroughly descriptive in every sentence and paragraph that I found appealing but a little bit dragging sometimes. But whenever there's an action scene, the author never fails to make up for it.
Story: Though I am still on chapter 5, I can't say anything much regarding the story. But I was enjoying it and planning to read the remaining chapters in my free time.
Grammar: I am not an expert here but the story is written well in most parts while there are sentences that kind of fall off or maybe it was just for my own preference. There are sentences that are too long(for me) to read.
Character: While I am still in chapter 5. It seems that the story was revealing a few things about August. We all like sympathetic characters like Gareth but having a morally grey protagonist such as August made the events in the story worthwhile without having to hate the "bad characters".
Overall this is really a good read. Though I wished the chapters were separated by parts.
