Description
Nicholas Crowley is used to scraping by in a world where magic is dying. The modern age has left the arcane behind, and the few remaining practitioners fight over scraps like starving dogs.
That, however, is no longer his problem. While performing a ritual, something interferes, and his soul is ripped from his body.
He awakens during the Class ceremony as Nick, a kid living on the frontier of the Green Ocean, a seemingly infinite expanse of trees brimming with rare ingredients and powerful creatures. Mana is abundant here, and the omnipresent System allows for feats he had once thought impossible.
And yet, not everything is as rosy as it seems. Legends walk the land, and Gods require their due. Will his experience as anOccultistbe enough to navigate this wild new world?

- QwandriRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a really well done regression story. So we have Nick, who is from some alternate earth with low levels of magic, shot into this magic full realm, and is assigned a special class called Occultist. The specific things I liked is that the regression back into a young boy was done really well. Nick isn't a psychopath and often acts like a thirteen-year-old with occultist experience. At first, this looks wrong, since he should act like an adult, but in this case, Nick genuinely is a thirteen-year-old. His mental state has been changed, and his body is going though growing stages. The parts where he uses his previous knowledge to his benefit is very good.
My only gripe is that I found it so early. I wish it had much more chapters on RR! - OwlpacalypseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An interesting magical system, a vast and undefined world, and a wide array of possibilities lie ahead.
The characters development and growth feels decently paced and interesting even though we have yet to see the character really develop on a personal level.
The magic system seems interesting and unique with paths affecting exp gain through its hard to really see how many people really advance further on based on what we've seen the MC do at this point in comparison to level gains. Its also hard to really understand how much levels, path, and prestige really matter when the MC has handled extremely powerful monsters this early on. It also feels like path xp modifiers weren't considered at the beginning of the story or the MC's class is more encompassing than even the MC believes it is.
The economics of the world also feel like they havent been completely thought out or defined with numbers created in the moment to sound impressive. This hasn't had a real impact on the story too this point but its worth keeping an eye on.
To this point side characters have felt well developed and like they have had meaningful interactions with the MC while cycling in and out of the story in a natural manner. The interactions show that they have distinctive goals goals personalities though they occasionally start to slip into a foil to show off the MC.
The long term plot points havent really been laid out in terms of what the story/MC goal is other than a single goal that feels ridiculous timeline wise based on the time progression of development through the story so far. Im left curious as to how the story will continue to grow and develop and how the author will handle the arbitrarily imposed time deadline created. Im hopeful it will be justified and facilitated in a good way and not just a device to skip exploring the depth and intricacies of the world. - Allo3.14Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Obviously it’s still very early, but I have enjoyed all the available chapters. Nick seems like a fun protagonist and the premise is exciting.
i have read several stories from the author and enjoyed them all, so I’m looking forward to how it will develop.
Also, I don’t think I saw an isekai where the mc comes from another fantasy world. - EddieMRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wow! I have to tell you, I can't get enough. If the author dropped the whole book I would binge read it and ask for for. If he dropped the whole series I would wait anxiously for the continuation. This is one of the best series on RR. It's well written with a good pace of action, slice of life, and home grown "academy" progression mixed with a sense of foreboding enemy buildup. If you've been looking for a true mage story and not necessarily a spell sword story, then this is the place for you (at least 85 chapters in). It's not rated at almost 5 stars for nothing. Give it a shot. I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed.
- James HaysRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Entertaining and creative. Its worth the read.
This story has everything I look for in fantasy, immersive magic, untamed wilderness, alchemy, and intrigue.
The main character is likeable and not too overpowered from the start. The growth feels somewhat earned and he isn't always relying on his past life to get him through whatever trouble he is in. - FatmasterjediRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Excellent use of the isikai genre, interesting characters, good plot. Wish I could find more like this. MC is extremely interesting, his past is hinted at but not fully explained. Bet it will be playing a big roll later. Hints at important lineage for his new family. Great all around story
- DracoPyro26Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Nick Crowley and his ancestor Aleister Crowley and their parallels in this new dimension in Floria are freaking cool as hell. The entire story is deep and filled with frontier fun, with just the right amount of reincarnator knowledge to make the story extra interesting. I love the occult that references different cultures and practices. It's clear the author does their research and has an excellent grasp on the intent necessary for ritualistic practices. The characters are deep and each one is rich with their own minds and voices. I love the humor that is in the story and the conflict and the mystery! I love the fact that I can come back from vacation and there are hundreds of new chapters to read. Thank you! And great job! Keep it up!
- HellotheworldRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's early days, but it's good. Good temperate mc so far, hope he grows up more soon though. How the mc uses magic need some more interesting depth to everything though. Rituals are especially seeming to... "and the mc clicked his fingers and it instantly happened". the how, why and results would benefit from a little more depth. both in showing not telling and dramatic / interesting reading
more in depth drives into why his "old" magic worked despite the little mana would be interesting too.
his enjoyment of magic is coming through, which is really nice and refreshing. But his 'magic smarts' i wish were better described in the moments. I wish these moment would make him and I interested in what he's doing and his powers, but they are pretty poorly, dryly done.
some flair, some trouble, some dramatic pauses, some mc being overly dramatic because he enjoys what's he's doing. and stuff that give things oomph, He did a praise the sun ritual without any dramatic speeches or poses (stuff that would show not tell the mc is having fun), and we got told the sun rose, it wasn't interestingly described.
we've been told he had back and forward conversations but have never seen them. He literally just shuts up and says yes sir (or person's title) in what we've actually seen. Which gets old quick and has so far made all side character very one sided... or the rest of the conversation gets skipped which is just boring and kills all tension that the conversation should of had.
The risks of get caught doing something or similar is told to me every. single. chapter. Yet i do not feel it, i don't care for it. And we he does something with a another person revealing his magic/ knowledge... IT SKIPS THE REST OF THE SCENE AND FOLLOW UP - killing all tension. The desperate attempts to tell a young girl to lie, with the follow up being she told the adults everything could have been a great funny and dramatic part. but no it skipped the build up and pay off (despite it showing the end)
Oc - IainCRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fantastic. How this slipped under the radar for me I don’t know but I found it at nearly 300 chapters and have enjoyed every one.
A true hidden gem. Well thought out plot arcs, attention to detail with magic system and skills and excellent characterisation throughout. The main character in particular is beautifully written, almost a reluctant hero in pursuit of knowledge.
Definitely in my RR top 10 ; great job and thanks for sharing with us. - The_Laughing_TreeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have reader up to chapter 22. A great story so far. I very much recoomend the story to other readers. The 4 subcategories are excellent (style, story, greammar and character) particularly character as Nick is a very likeable character that I look forward to seeing what he does next. There are no issues with grammar as the story is clear and easy to read. The author's style and storytelling carry along the reader with this truly enchanting tale.
Spoiler: Elia has potential as well I assume the the fire abilities shown are foxfire rather than standard fire magic and there are definite hints that fox beastkin can strengthen their bloodline perhaps transforming into a kitsune?
It seems also that the Crowley family have a long history in Floria and perhaps a hidden connection with the Green Ocean it will be intruiging to discover what those hidden family secrets pertain to.
Vicar Alexander is a interesting character showing both negative and positive traits with both a somewhat rigid adherance to his religious dogma but counterbalnced by devotion to the people of Floria preventing him from going too far (so far at least) it will be interesting to see how the author develops his character in future chapters with the bishop being a potentially looming presence in the background.
