A defensive base with an impossibly high potential for movement but middling power is an interesting combination and some of the plot hooks sitting on the counter have me thinking of an extra planner war looming on the horizon, maybe force him to defend his world and frame it as a low stakes guard duty like keeping an eye on the latrine far from the enemy and obviously just a way to give the new recruit some time to adjust before their first deployment but the new guy spots the enemy trying to poison the rations or something.
