----Excerpt:Silence reigned as I nervously followed them into a room, keeping my eyes down since I could sense my soulmate. A few moments later, a set of heavy footsteps began to approach me. A couple of the others inhaled in shock.One of the earlier voices murmured, "You’ve got to be kidding me..."I stopped where I was and shifted my weight uneasily at that comment. My presence hadn’t surprised them. They were shocked by the identity of whoever was walking toward me. It made me very nervous, to say the least.My worry and caution urged me to look up to see why they were so astonished, but I knew I’d almost certainly make eye contact, and the risk of rejection wasn’t easily dispelled. Trembling with nerves, I focused my gaze on my shoes as my mate drew closer.
