Lonely Apocalypse: Left Out By The System
Community Rating
Description
Sometimes you wake up and just know your day is gonna suck.
Now imagine waking from a three-year coma in an abandoned hospital, completely alone. Yeah, it’s one ofthosedays.
Last I remember, I was heroically saving my high school crush from the path of an oncoming truck. Now I’m a skin and bones patient wearing nothing but my hospital gown. Has anyone seen my pants? Oh yeah, the world is also full of monsters, and I’m the only human left. Literally.
It turns out Earth has fused with a foreign dimension, becoming a home for dragons, monsters, and alien races. Thankfully, a godlike System has evacuated everyone already. Everyone but me.
Being left behind isn't a first for me. From the moment my parents named me Lex Lurker, I was destined to be ignored. It still hurts nonetheless. Each human has been given a chance to prepare for what's to come in the Tutorial. Me, though? I've been thrown into this hellscape with only a snarky talking cat for a companion.
I could crawl into a corner and wait to get eaten by a frigginkobold, but after years of being asleep I have a new appreciation for feeling alive. And for all the chaos, there are game-like rules and magical powers that could help me avoid becoming a meal and perhaps even thrive in this brutal new world.
I’ll have to find the tenacity to survive, the courage to fight, and the strength to prevail against the impossible odds. I just need to figure out where to get pants, first.

- FaebyenTheFairyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to future chapters. In premise, this story resembles [Everyone Else is a Returnee] A SHIT TON, but a better version. I foresee better-written characters, more engaging plots, and a much more interesting power system. ESPECIALLY the power system, which has so many options that feel quite natural. The Concepts feel a little shoe-horned in, but that's easily forgiven because they do make the story more interesting.
Style: Everything flowed like water. From combat to moments of just thinking, I found nothing lacking at all.
Grammar: 4.5/5 because there are quite a few typos, though they don't detract from the story at all.
Story: The first volume just entails the MC finding his bearings from within a hospital turned Dungeon, but I anticipate greatness from the future story to come. From snippets of other characters' lives I can tell that this story won't just be blindly following a MC who stumbles into the morale highground of every encounter.
Character: I am greatly satisfied with how the author fleshed out the characters--especially the ones soon to die. Killing faceless mobs is almost never fun, so I greatly appreciate the interludes within which the kobolds' perspectives were shown. Their differences and quirks were memorable even though they quickly died! I will never forget The Feeble, The Loyal, and The Cautious.
And now I need a few more words so that I can post this as an Advanced Review, so... Umm, I can't wait for more? I read the entire first volume (which is just over 70,000 words) in one afternoon? I'm gonna check out the author's other works now? Damn, how long does it take to write two-hundred measly words-- - DonutDaddyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5So the idea is not completely unique but it has some unique elements to it that I quite like, the main deciding factor will be how the author decides to execute everything.
Style: I like the spacing, most books on this site are starting to nail the tightly, neat and easy to read style which is great. The only thing I wish was changed was you used boxes for character screens and such. The bold letters make it a less immersivre.
Story: The story is a semi unique idea. What's really unique is that the MC has an option to become a 'moderator' for the system. I can count the amount of times I've seen that idea on one hand and nine of them have executed it properly in my opinion.
Grammer: Keeps in line with the style, neat and tighty. There are a few syntax problems and structuring problems but nothing major or recurring.
Charecter: This is where my major problem with the story pops up. The author REALLY likes side POVs, which This early in the story is kind of concerning. I get the author is trying to use it to develop the world and such but it takes to much away from the storyline. If the author wants to have alot of side POVs I would reccomended making this a story with multiple MCs. Otherwise the main story will progress to slowly and we will lose the excitement. - baurusRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I won't give it 5 stars couse i dont like the pov parts from the enemy perspective. The pov from other perspective is fine but the enemy one is just boring especially since you kind off expect them to die soon anyways and dont really care. The system is quite good. A bit more extensive than your regular 6 stats and some skills.
the stalking part was a bit weird but you had to introduce the sneaky ability somehow soo i'll excuse it as "he had a sneaky skill for his whole life so he didn't know any better"
Besides that the characters seem alright soo far and I can't wait to see this in the later stage when everyone comes back - squidtakenRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5its defintely good it has logic and is a good read, the updates seem random and there are some typos but those dont really affect your reading experience and in my opnion its like everyone else is a returnee but better and more in depth with more logic and is a great read for anyone looking to pass time sadly it isnt upadted often
- readalotRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I just recently found and read the book on amazon. There is a bit too much banter in my opinion. I didn't like his special status (fated one) or what have you. That worked well for Star Wars but now it is overdone in hundreds of different ways. An everyman is more appealing who earns their way.
His obsession with a girl is a bit creepy. There was no relationship there so it just feels like he has stalker vibes. It's forgivable as a kid but it is something he needs to grow out of.
A couple of things that stood out to me that are errors. One, 1911 magazines are single stack and hold 7 rounds not ten unless you buy extended magazines. You could edit in that the mags were extended which is easier than changing the bullet counts. The second thing is you keep referring to humans and other thinking creatures as sentient. Sentient means they can experience touch, feel things. A bug is sentient. I am pretty sure you mean sapient such as homo sapien. Usually refers to having wisdom aka thinking reasoning.
Some spelling errors that are minor and easy to overlook. I would read the next story but hope it improves.
