Description
In a weathered country town nestled deep in the wilds of a medieval world, eight-year-old Lillia lives a life of poverty and routine—mending clothes, tending fields, and selling herbs to scrape by.
When their safety is shattered, Lillia is torn from her home as their enemies descend. Fleeing into the wilderness, she is forced to abandon everything she’s ever known. As despair threatens to break Lillia, she crosses paths with a silent, deadly vagabond warrior whose motives remain unclear but whose sword keeps her alive.
On the run in a savage world ruled by warlords, monsters, and forgotten magic, Lillia begins to awaken her own gifts—studying lost magic, mastering rare herbs and alchemy, and unlocking her family's secrets bit by bit.
Lillia explores the lasting effects of trauma, the corrupting nature of power, the cost of survival, and the blurred lines between good and evil. With GameLit elements woven into the narrative structure—skills, alchemy, progression—it mirrors the leveling-up arc of a player character in a brutal open world, yet grounds it in raw emotional stakes and unflinching realism.

There is such a commitment to the characters and style feeling real for the world. The intelligent medieval voice is a reason to read this!
The style is appropriately flowery, and descriptive. The author is attempting something difficult, and for the most part they succeed. I was impressed with the breadth and definition words carried. Whether it was narrative or dialogue, it felt cohesive. This can render the style long and heavy as well. The occasional monologue rather than enforcing the main characters verbose tendency’s distracts due to style impact.
Grammer is well done. The author keeps contemporary grammer applied to their style elegantly. There were no major issues while I read. Occasional longer sentences, and layered syntax is used to improve style!
The story is building to something important and you can feel it. The growing tension between Lillia and Likaan matches plot progression. It’s a slower start, but appropriately so, and one that is purposeful.
Character’s are distinct and the siblings are great foils to each other. Lykaan’s moral choices work with Lillia’s willingness. And it feels like its building to something big.
During longer speeches, characters can begin to blend, but voice remains distinct,
Overall this is a promising start. The world building is layered and comes fast. But its also done with tone, and plot purpose.
If you enjoy stories with world depth, fantasy style, and characters with complex motivations, Keep reading. I’m excited for future chapters. - The Writer MeaRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story is about some magical events as mentioned in the subject. I don't think it's very new in terms of the story's subject, but the issue is not to be a new type of story. It's to be able to create a more accurate and exciting story. Although the subject is not very innovative, the plot is of course much different and thus stands out from its other genres. The author did not do a bad job in designing the story he wanted to create.
Unfortunately, there are some problems with grammar. Confusing problems. Of course, they don't confuse too much, but even if they only affect momentarily, they prevent us from reaching the level of empathy we want to reach regarding the characters' feelings. Similarly, the flow is also a problem. Without any action to introduce the world, we directly enter into conversation and conflict. It would have been better if there were some intriguing elements that would allow us to learn a little more about people and push us to read about the world. In this respect, the story progressed too quickly.
The characters are the investment point of the story. They have their own distinct personalities and these personalities do not mix with the others. For example, you can know that if a character were in another character's place, he would make a different decision. You may think this is a simple thing, but usually the characters are always a reflection of the author's inner world and the author has only one personality. Although some teenagers think they have more...
This book deserves a chance. It's a genre I love too. I hope to continue reading.
