Lifestealer: Cursed Healer [A LITRPG Isekai Survival]
Community Rating
Description
First, do no harm.
What if the only way to save a life is to take another?
When a freak accident during his first shift as a paramedic leads to Symon being reincarnated with cursed and corrupted healing magic, he soon discovers that not even the arcane can create something from nothing.
To heal, he must consume the life force of others — monsters, murderers, innocents. When it comes to vitality, his so-called "blessing" makes no distinction, and asks no permission.
At least he's got plenty of time to practice taming his powerful but uncontrollable magic, as he finds himself in an endless desert, his only company the many creatures trying to kill him.
He may be weak now, his body still adapting to the power of mana, but simple thirst and man-eating centipedes will soon be the least of his worries. With his powers, he'll be able to grow faster than anyone else could dream. But in an unforgiving world where the strong prey on the weak, many refuse to let Symon pursue his dream of being a humble healer. To them, his magic isn’t a gift — it’s a prize, a tool... or a weapon.
Second, do whatever it takes to survive.

- Briareus the GardenerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is an underrated gem. The author is boiling over with interesting ideas, and manages to exploit each one to good effect. The quality characterization and character interactions are basically a flex after that.
The only downside is the gnawing fear that the author might not finish the series. - Magnuss999Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Nice start of an hopefully epic adventure. The System trope is good executed with no bad quest logs or things like that. It’s more a tracking device of MCs progress and his newly learned skills. The world until now seems interesting even if I didn’t see enough of the developed world to properly rate it. The healing power has a unique Yin Yang aspect to it and is though that one of the few healer skills where I really see the benefit of going out and fighting monsters. Many other healer novels really lack a proper motivation for the mc to go into danger. I can’t really say anything about the grammar because English isn’t my first language but I didn’t spot any mistakes that would pull me out of the story. Can’t wait to read more and we need a partition for a small toy ship for the captain.
- Tarvis K'maraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0One of the things that really makes this story stand out from others of it's kind is how well it does the Status. Most stories either dont show the status often enough or show it way to often. This finds the perfect balance and by only showing what has change it can do them more often without it overwhelming the story or seeming like it are padding the chapter for a word count. It is a very smart way to do it and, in my opinion, makes the story more enjoyable and easier to read.
The story itself is good. MC has interesting development and while suffering from the 'fish out of water' issues he deals with it in an intelligent manner. His powers maybe OP in some regards but he himself is not. He has strengths and weaknesses and his focus on learning and improving through hard work makes for a more compelling read than if he just got skills out of nowhere and became instantly OP.
Good supporting cast with slow but steady developments in both characterisation and relationship building.
Highly recommended this story. - Tom Nirmal josephRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Please continue writing, I really enjoyed it. The mc is loveable and the story is great as well. The side characters have depth and their pov are refreshing. The positive attitude of the mc in a strife filled world creates a lot of new circumstances. Overall i read all the avaialable chapters in a couple of days and now feel empty because i dont get to know what happens next.
- VELDRINRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall/Character:
So far the story is very engrossing, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Sure the MC is a bit ditsy and naive, but I think that's a pretty accurate rendition of what your average joe in a fantasy world would be like. He doesn't have any crazy hardcore skills aside from some anatomical knowledge. I like that he isn't perfect, that he is trying to strategize to the best of his ability, but is also being forced to make decisions as he goes depending on circumstances. It's much more realistic than meta gaming your powers and then getting killed because you decided to gimp yourself short term for a better long term build.
Style:
The writing style is enjoyable, and the general vibe of the book definitely leaves you feeling like this story is going interesting places. I love the chaotic nature of the upgrades at each new advancement, and how different types of energy affect his evolutions. It hints at ways to force certain aspect evolutions which could be fun later on.
Grammar
No real notes here, the grammar thus far has been solid. I have noticed the odd mistake once or twice but nothing consistently egregious. The author doesn't attempt to use convoluted words or phrases, which makes the story flow smoothly without breaking immersion when you need to quickly google a word.
Story:
As I've stated, I'm enjoying where the story is going. There feels like real urgency in most of the fights, and even when he is down and out, there is some reasonable method of keeping the MC alive and kicking. I enjoy the magic system so far, both the MC's, other characters, and the idea of limited use enchanted items. I like that not every power is going to be OP, or battle relevant. Most people wouldn't need them so it's nice to see some effort put into practical abilities as well. - PagetHereRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Story was pretty good. Mc seemed decent. It was a different concept a healer that stole life energy to heal. Truly intriguing design. The latest choice though made me lose all interest. Thanks for the story so far but I don't think I'm likely to continue. Good story just not for me. Happy reading all! ^_^
- MyDoRySRoyal Road★★ 2.0This one is just not for me. I don't get why, after a life of suffering, you would want to get a second one....I'm ok with just disappearing if the new life is going to be equally crappy or worse! So if a "god" offers you a new life, make sure it's a good one, not one where you have to stumble into a new world with nothing worth or knowledge from the beginning.
- kmuRoyal Road★★ 1.5Just did not like the main character the way he acted like a puppy when he found his so called friends just made me cringe, someone so desperate to have friends is someone I would not like to be around at all , then he was afraid that he would be found out he was reincarnated from a spirit that only he can talk to or interact with. Really?
