- negagenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This review is because this is the type of story I enjoy a lot, and just to encorage the author to keep writing I'm going to give it 5 stars, Keep the good work.
I like that the character is shown in the start to keep to herself a lot, she doesn't talk a lot and when something happens her first reaction is to blame others or looking for an excuse, so she really wouldn't have started to do boxing if it wasn't because the mages, but what started like a self-defence measure soon became a grinding adition, I think she in someway nows see the world as a game, like in the webtoon The Gamer, the reason I think this is because when she becomes aware that she can't level up training anymore, growns fustrated and start looking for people to fight to level up, and would you guess it, she becomes adicted to fighting too, I would like to see a POV of other charactes to see their reactions to her, because her POV makes me remember the MC from REND (another novel in this site), just a little more watered down.
I like the story and the character a lot, I hope it doesn't get dropped. - slcdrakeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written RPG boxer fighting story with wonderful MC and family. The other side characters are a little 1 dimensional but improving.
Boxing training montage which is really fun to read.
Magic hidden society which is just starting to get more detail.
Demons eating peeps
Teen in school doing school stuff ... low angst
MMA style fighting - KnightfireRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like this story plain and simple. Even with the system and all its changes the MC as of chapter 55 is still a part of school and her family. The character's changes seem natural as a result of what she has experience instead of some kind of manipulation by the author.
- noah hoffmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A very interesting concept. I like the idea of a person having an RPG system in real life. That is pretty much my dream. The main charecter is nice and likeable, and it is great to see her actually grow and get stronger through the use of the system. The boxing is an interesting twist, and i look foward to seeing where the author takes it. All in all, a very good book so far, and I look foward to reading more.
- the_random_userRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5From the other reviews on here, they make it seem like the main protagonist goes from "im your childhood friend, next door neighbor" to "im out for blood and im going to kill everyone because i can" in the blink of an eye without any development in-between, and this couldn't be further from the truth.
While i will fully admit that the main character can be aggressive at times, what MC hasn't been in literally any of the other novels on this platform? The goblin equivalent for base level mobs in this novel are demons. They attack and kill people and get enjoyment out of causing pain and, like every other novel on RRL, these base level mobs are killed without much thought. So no, I dont think the main character deserves the 1 star rating for her aggressive actions.
In addition to that, the MC decides to learn boxing, an inherently aggressive sport. Along with her system, it would be very easy to see it going to her head and changing her, not necessarily for the better.
Overall tho, considering this was writen at 4am and im mainly just ranting, ill finish up. The actual enjoyment factor of this novel is very high and i couldn't stop reading when i found it. I recommend it if you want to see decently fast pacing, and shit getting done in regards to the leveling speed of the MC. - GrinsleyRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The is a good story, possibly even a great story with time and revisions. My main complaint is that everything is a little bit too convenient it doesn't feel like the MC has to work for her rewards and the leveling system is way to easy to exploit.
The style is easy to read with no grammatical problems that I can't read right past, some of the dialogue is stillted with characters all to ready to talk about their motivations.
This story does fall to the common pitfall of having obviously and irredeemably evil characters with no real complexity or motivations beyond "be evil". But there are some side characters and the parents in particular which feel more real.
The idea that just by teaching a giant group of people all at once you can cheese the system in to pouring out levels seems pretty scuffed why isn't there someone with the same system doing this on TV oe the internet and raking in hundreds or levels a minute.
Lastly I hope the mc encounters a challenge that can't be overcome by simple punching harder or going to train for a few days. I look forward to how the story develops it shows real promise. - mrelRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The story is pretty nice, but the MC character progression seems twisted.
I have only read the first 8 chapters, since 7 and 8 creeped me out. I could see no reason for her sudden bloodthurst. It made the character progression unnatural and the MC seem insane.
She seeks out school kids to beat up, not stopping before she draws blood. She is supposed to be a quiet and slightly weird girl, but because the system interface shows her numeric progression, she suddenly acts crazy. This discreppensy makes it hard to read the story.
The story itself seems quite good, but the character progression makes it unreadable to me. I wish her sudden character twist could be explained better, either through her being traumatized or by a more natural progression, where she slowly starts getting worse.
It is not like a bad guy get bad instantly, instead they slowly do worse and worse things. Maybe they start through teasing, then bullying, they get worse through external factors like peer pressure, pride, or something else. This character progression seems to completely lack these kinds of elements and it makes the MC look twisted and crazy.
It almost seem like the system interface is somehow corrupting her, but no such plots are leaked, it is only ever used like a measuring system of her progress while maybe improving her learning. If the system is a bad influence on her I would have liked better hints or something. - Cosy CurseRoyal Road★ 1.0This is not very good at all. There are multiple problems, small and large, but I feel three are the most relevant to the negative experience I had with the novel.
1. The style.
The style is so bland. It's tell don't show in its purest form. The perspective character just explains what is happening in the environment in a written monotone. The author adds in language quirks from the mc, which in most story would go far to add to the style, but in the end she just describes the world around her with no twist, no interesting descriptors and no attempt to build the scene around the mc. We just have to focus on whatever she is directly focusing on, with no time made for background descriptions or interesting asides. It makes the world feel absolutely lifeless. And it only goes true third person to blandly explain Zoey directly to the reader. "Zoey felt...", "Zoey realized...". Again, it's just telling us what it should be showing us.
Another way this is a problem is that the story has no flow. Nothing connects or builds on itself. It's akin to if someone broke down the elements of writing and just inserted them into the text. Nothing fits. It speaks to a writer who doesn't know how to connect the scenes in their head in a way that is realistic or entertaining, so they just don't.
Despite how energetic her character is and the clear attempts at humor, the delivery sucks any life from the story. So the humor is also bad, though this is more subjective and just my opinion. The execution is always mediocre due to the style, but the basis of it is flawed as well The basis of the jokes are all things I just find kinda boring and uninteresting. They could be interesting if a skilled comedian was taking a shot at these subjects, but so many people have told the same jokes. They are beyond stale. Oh, a joke about how the mc is a loser, a sex joke, a joke based on race, a sexist coach joke. I should be clear, from what I've seen no of the humor is actually sexist, just based on a
