They, to him, were as alive as anyone he remembered from his time as a once mighty hero. And for a very long time, he got his wish...

Until one day a noise from the forest interrupted his work on a key chapter, and in his frustration, he raced out to silence the disturbance and found two small girls huddling beneath a tree and surrounded by hungry wolves.It was not the last time he would be interrupted...but it would take a long time before he would learn not to mind.[There is no tag for 'Found Family' or 'Wholesome' but that's what this story is. If you liked 'Killing Slimes for 300 Years' with low stakes wholesome and mild humor, I dare say this is for you]

adorable slice of life fantasy story. Really hits that adoptive father and daughter relationship troupe with with two animal girl daughters. It is adorable and cute.
We also see his flash backs of his past life and why stories are so important to him. What I love is that slowly he starts to look out from himself and see a greater purpose with the girls while still valuing his hobbies and interest.

This book is really the perfect cure and cosy adventure story.
Yes it’s got an elder Lich writing stories in the forest and saving cute kittens, but what’s even better is that it has really good writing.
The flow of the writing just pulls you in, and makes it easy to keep reading and enjoying what is happening.
The next thing that is really great about the book is that it is wonderful at creating feeling — of cuteness, coziness etc. But you also have the lich who died in a war, so he thinks about all the friends and heroes he fought with, and wonders what happens to them.
So that brings me to the next great aspect of this book — the characters. The characters are interesting and feel like ‘real people’ with inner lives. So the characters being the story to life
It’a a fresh and original story too — the main character is a “Elder Lich” of great arcane power — who really just wants to be left alone to write his books.
Finally, all this sets up the humor wonderfully. This book is hilarious! The cuteness sets up a nice backdrop so that the jokes are even funnier.
So if you want a story that is original, cute, funny, with interesting characters, then this is a gem that you have got to read.
