Description
Lemon is a good girl, smart as any human, even if she does have four legs and a tail. She lives with her master, the great Wizard Hogarth, who is sometimes a little forgetful, very excitable, and often quite smelly. Hogarth loves making new potions, and Lemon is his trusted assistant!
Hogarth has been talking about an upcoming wizards’ conference for months, and has been eagerly refining his latest work, thePotion of Unlimited Invincibility. It only works for a minute, but during that time, nothing can hurt him. Unfortunately, he rushed off to the conference and forgot the sample potion! It’s up to Lemon to get it to him so his big debut isn’t a total flop.
It’s a long trip, but Lemon has plenty of magic to help her along the way, and her master needs her help! Sometimes, a dog’s gotta do what a dog’s gotta do to save the day.

- friendlyobserverRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I can not give this series enough praise! Top tier, no, GOD TIER story for all of those who like puppers. Truly one of the best fantasy doggo stories I have ever read. No, one of the best high fantasy stories, I have read. And I have been reading them for over 40 years.
- Azurewyrm66Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Lemon is THE GOODEST GRRL!
More Lemon please! Lighthearted stories like Lemon are criminally underrated, often because they have happy endings that some cRiTiCs say render them simplistic and lacking complexity and depth, often not taking into account how a good story like Lemon can lift someone's spirits and make their day better.
Worked for me. - BadgerButlerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you enjoy high fantasy and appreciate wholesome adventures, then i highly recommend Lemon!
Miss Lemon is the Goodest Girl and while she can be forgetful at times, she never lets Bad people or Bad Magic thrive, always ready to lend a paw to folks in need.
A guaranteed Good Read - BobCharlieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Growing up, I always loved the Homeward Bound movies, and while the plot is nowhere the same, and realistically the only similarities are the animals, I can't help but get flashbacks of my childhood when reading this story.
The author is EmergencyComplaints, so realistically that is all that needs to be said about the Style. You can expect a story that is smooth, crisp, humourous and to the point
As for the Story, I've only gotten to read a couple chapters so far, but it's starting out great. The main focus of the story so far has been a doggos journey through the wilderness. Utilizing various magic charms, she sets out to deliver several objects, meeting new friends, seeing new and exciting things, and dealing with some rather unlikable animals in the process.
The grammar is top notch. As the author is also a talented editor, expect above average quality for RR.
The Character is fun and adventurous. The story follows Lemon the Golden Retriever, and she is just as fun-loving and eager to please as one would expect from a good girl.
Al in all, I'm excited for more, and highly recommend Lemon to all fans of not only Fantasy, but those who enjoy a good story in general. - Elchen WarmageRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was a delightful piece of whimsy fantasy. A nice feel good story about a smart dog that I could just sit down and read. No drama or intigue to spoil the fun.
This next bit is to say that this was a teally nice story to read. Darned reviews must always be so long. - Elva the 13thRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I loved every chapter. Seeing things through the eyes of a magic golden retriever was an excellent premise for this story.
Let sleeping bear and skunks alone.
Taking on the harpies , running their ritual.
Taking on the Swamp Witch and killing her.
Helped rescue a 4 year old from a vampire, then let her personal magic burn his head to ash.
Found a budding mage and then finding him a master wizard to take him on.
Then capturing a snake that had been eating moles that had been eating the mushrooms that they were looking to get for their master.
And those are the best parts, but everything in between is just as good. - No Road UntraveledRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0There is just something about a story that has a magical, lovable, smart, but easily distracted, and slightly goofy, golden retriever that hits all the right sweet spots in my soul.
I know it’s a long shot, but I still hope that the author will someday write a sequel. - SurvRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It’s a rather short story about a magic dog trying to help her master. Short, sweet, and to the point, Lemon is an easy read that gives off good vibes and a nicely self contained story. With where it leaves off, this is definitely a story that could continue but truthfully, I’m glad it doesn’t.
Not every story needs to be 1000 pages and its short format makes it easy to read in an afternoon. - TrenchantRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A cozy tail about the goodest girl, who stops Bad magic with new tricks.
Oh, and some humans, who smell funny.
Also a cat, who is rude.
And sausages. Many, many delicious sausages that make the perfect treats for a tired, hungry dog.
Many thanks for this delightful story. Recently finished reading this aloud to my kids with some very minimal on-the-fly edits at one or two scary/gross bits. Truly amazing to find such a gem that is both lovable for youngish children and makes adults laugh out loud. - abookRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is like a warm blanket on a cold day. Its a low stakes cozy adventure with a loveable and occasionally clumsy dog on a mission.
I enjoyed every chapter, especially when Lemon completes her mission. But my favorite part was how the author filtered every experience through Lemon's eyes.
All around a good read, and great non-human lead story.
