Lastborn

Throughout histoy there are patterns given significance, deemed special in the eyes of the Divines.  One of these is the seventh son of the seventh son, chosen to face exceptional challenges for exceptional rewards.

The Divines did not forsee a world which deviated from their plans, and so as the centuries pass certain patterns become less common.  When the picking get slim, the Divine Quests will take any Chosen One they can get.

Hoch was born under auspicious circumstances, the seventh son of a seventh son.  That was a long time ago, and now by process of attrition and a world changed by technology he's the only Chosen One around, and despite his best efforts he has been given a quest intended for a newborn.
