Description

Summoned to the dry and desperate world of Distilly—where alcohol is banned and the Holy Prohibition rules with an iron chalice—Barrett, Sherry, and Meryl are given an unlikely mission: bring booze back to the world.

Their summoner? Rumiel, a young, overworked angel of wishes buried in celestial paperwork. She might look holy and serene, but the trio quickly realizes she's more useless than divine—dodging responsibilities and trying to drink her stress away. Still, with the promise of a single wish each, starting a boozy rebellion sounded like a decent trade.

There’s just one small issue.

None of them have ever fought monsters, staged coups, or battled blightmages.Their only real talent?Crushing a six-pack on a Friday night.

Now, with monsters lurking in every moss-choked forest and the theocratic Chaliceguard hunting them down, they’ll have to rely on their instincts, their questionable teamwork, and an iron liver to survive.

Oh, and it really doesn’t help that God found out, stripped Rumiel of her holiness, and tossed her into the chaos with them.

What to expect:2000-3000 word chapters.A not so overly complex litrpg system.Characters who grow and learn to cooperate with each other.Funny dialogue.

I didn’t expect to be emotionally invested in a LitRPG where outlawed alcohol brewing is central to the plot, but Last Call for Distilly is one of the most charming and refreshingly original stories I’ve read in a long time. The prose is clean and flows effortlessly, with a perfect balance of action, humor, and heartfelt moments. Every chapter feels meaningful, and the character interactions are so natural they practically breathe.
What really sets it apart is how the world feels alive—full of deadly monsters, hidden hope, and just the right amount of absurdity. Barrett’s dry, grounded perspective keeps things relatable, even as the group progresses through the dangers of Distilly. The slow-burn rebellion plot is compelling, but it’s the friendships, witty banter, and quiet moments that make the story shine.
Each character brings something unique to the group, from Sherry’s tough love and Rumiel’s angelic antics. The world of Distilly feels both whimsical and oppressive—a land healing from spiritual rot and social decay. The stakes feel personal yet important, and the mix of comedy and emotional depth hits just right.
At this point I’ve read up until chapter 23 and I have not been disappointed. If you’re tired of cookie-cutter LitRPGs, this one’s absolutely worth your time.

I was initially drawn in by the book cover, but pleasantly surprised to find a well-crafted fantasy story filled with enjoyable and approachable LitRPG elements. What I expected to be a simple read quickly turned into something far more engaging and immersive.
The author’s writing style hooked me from the very first chapter—and only improved as the story progressed. The prose strikes a great balance between clarity and atmosphere. Descriptions are vivid without bogging down the pacing, and the dialogue really shines. Each character has a unique voice, and their interactions feel natural, often witty, and sometimes surprisingly heartfelt.
One of the things I appreciated most was how thoughtfully the fantasy elements were handled. Monster encounters aren’t just flashy fights—they’re strategic challenges that require planning and teamwork. It’s a refreshing change from stories where characters brute-force their way through enemies.
The story is told from Barrett’s perspective, and I found him to be a relatable and thoughtful protagonist, even though he can be seen as 'a normal guy'. It’s rare to see such grounded progression in a LitRPG setting, where characters don’t just skyrocket in power, but grow steadily with earned effort.
The cast is charming, the world is intriguing, and I’m genuinely excited to see where the journey goes from here. Highly recommended!

Okay so, I have read a lot of this book. I can tell that all character are special and weird with their seprate personality. They all have a distinct voice and personality, making them very likeable.
The premises of this story about a group of overworked people, spawned out of nowhere to bring a coup de to overthrow the world and bring beers back, sound easy, right? No, it isn't!
We have three three guys who can drink all day and a useless angel, but it will work out I hope. The phrases used in the story are very catchy and funny. I can never predict what might happen next, as something new always pops up, taking me by surprise.
The mc is well a tried guy who just want some holidays and a good drink at a Friday night. Not, much but now he will have to face monsters and it done perfectly good. The fights were good with some edges it could get better. But the story main goal is comedy and it's doing it fantastically.
The grammar was alright, nothing to add and the style to write was very open and to my liking. It's a first pov novel, so characters thought are left completely bare to us.
If you enjoy slice of life fantasy comedy, then this story is for you. Beware of the angel though~

Style - Quick fire one liners along with dry wit and sarcasm that's woven in-between unique twists on tropes that delivers with every line. There's tension when there needs to be and there's a calm emotional depth to the story as well. I felt really drawn in with the action scenes and could picture the cast and mobs so clearly with the writing style. I really enjoyed how well thought out the plot and world building is too because outside of the zaney moments it's pretty realistic and I'm sure has happened in some capacity in history.
Story - This is certainly an engaging story. A serious plot centered around
    Holy prohibition via religious nutters.
brings the MC - Barrett into the world of Distilly. Along with two other chosen one types ( but not really) because they just happened to be next in line if the others weren't good enough by an angel that's had enough of dealing with prayers on a day to day basis. The opening chapters are absolute riots and amongst the comedy there are some real dramatic moments as well that never take from the pacing of the story. Particularly after Barrett gets injured from and they are desperate to aid him whilst pursued.
Grammar - Solid effort all round.
Characters - Barrett the protag, is initially a bit of a cheeky chap. Desperate to get his hands on things but quickly in a natural way becomes a fish out of water that still manages to grow and start shifting his mentality. Boy needs a drink though for sure. Sherry & Meryl bring a sort Laurel and Hardy vibe to the story but at same time they want to look out for the group. Rumiel the angel, is a snarky queen but despite the fact she's just trying to do the right thing as a being of higher power, she's still dealing with the typical drama of family life that's really relatable to a reader.
Overall - Would 100% recommend checking this out if you're looking for something that has done twists on all the classic tropes, and carved something that's super hilarious, well grounded and relatab
