Description

Half-Human, Half-Superhero, and good at neither, Rylee Addams has the world on her shoulders.

It's been a decade since superheroes were made illegal, but for Rylee, it marks the ten year anniversary her father died saving the world. The Golden Age of Capes died with him, but that doesn't mean she's going to be anything else except a superhero. And maybe this year she'll prove to the world that she can be just as great as her father was years ago. Maybe she'll even usher in a new age of heroes. A new Golden Age.

All she's got to do is survive a year that seemingly doesn't want to see her around much longer.

More villains are crawling out from the dark. More humans are Awakening devastating powers. And it's up to the daughter of Zeus to sort it all out. Hopefully then the world won't see her as a stain on her father's legacy.

One day, Olympia will be what everyone thinks about when they think 'hero.'

For now, she's public enemy number one.

If you likeInvincibleand the fun, somewhat quick-wittiness ofSpiderman, and a touch of hand-to-hand violence that'll sometimes end up with heads rolling, then hopefully you'll enjoy this story too.

It's going to be a long one, with lots of character development, so I hope you stick around for the ride.

Chapters release (hopefully) every Saturday/Sunday.

5/5 across the board—from characters to world-building and story, everything is excellent, a treat to read.
If you enjoy superhero stories with depth, grit, and heart, this one hits the mark.

Okay so, I have never done this before so forgive me my errors.
Killing Olympia has become without a doubt one of my favorite stories. It is hard to define what exactly makes it so good but once I read the first chapters it just clicked and I was hooked.
The Charakters are very well written and stay consitend, their reactions feel so real it`s great! Rylee makes some less than smart decisions but you can see what led her there and emphathize with her. She`s a workaholic with daddy issues who had too much responsebility placed on here at a too young age.
The action is kinetic and violent, it sells the power well and is a blast to read about. The whole story is pretty gorey so if that is a problem for you maybe the story isn`t for you.
Worlbuilding wise it feels as if we just scratched the tip of the iceberg and that there is a lot moe to come, but was revealt as of now is already fascinating.
The style is fine, some convoluted sentences here and there but it feels profesionally written.
Grammar is also fine though I am not a native speaker so take that with a grain of salt.

The farther you get into this story the more grim it becomes. The action increases over time. Slow progression. Tease of happy ending,... Author seems to keep writing lovable MC but continues to torture her emotionally, mentally, and socially! This requirement for 50 words for a review is ridiculous! And probably is the reason why authors are given bad reviews to meet the word count. Duh stupid policy.

Killing Olympia has maybe the most well written character on royalroad currently going. I was shocked to see it at its current follower count. It deserves so much more.
Rylee is an amazing and complex character who is incredibly traumatized. Every authority figure in her life has failed her but she still tries to be a better person. Her flaws are obvious but she’s also actively lying to herself. She’s coping so badly about the burden she has been dealt. Her internal monologue is some of the best stuff I’ve ever read.
I also really enjoy the side character of Ava. She’s such a  pathetic fraud I love it.
Cadaver was my favorite fight so far.
And the world building it’s so well done. There’s so many mysteries currently in the world. Like Adam, what Rylee is, or what’s going on with Kaiju. Of the superhero web fiction’s that have been released since worm it really feels like the only one that can capture the horror and mystery that it had at certain points. Despite having a very strong protagonist I still feel invested in the story.
It feels like Rylee is exploring a real developed world. All the information she learns feels so well done. All of the different factions and their struggles with each other are great to follow.
The style and grammar is also great. I don’t see any mistakes. And the chapters always feel amazing to read. Even when fight scenes get complicated I can still track what is going on.

A well written story, both technically and with interesting characters and lots and lots of action.
Did I say action? So far the MC hasn’t stopped moving. She is always changing her clothes, blood tends to ruin her public image, and she has antagonists popping up everywhere!
An obviously intelligent author who is having fun with the whole superhero genre.

This is a hard one. This was certainly one of the most frustrating story I have ever read, not because it's bad, in fact I initially reviewed it at 5 stars, before putting it at 0.5, and now that I had more time, going for the middle.
This is a story that will not leave you indifferent, it is packed with emotions and carried by a vibrant main character. I WANTED to like it, I love all the inspirations, the ideas were great, Olympia is great. But I fundamentally hate what it's trying to do.
From the beginning Olympia is at the very top of the power ladder, She's to others superhumans what superhumans are to normal humans. But at the same time, the story wants her to be a young Taylor Herbert, and it also wants her to lose constantly.
How can a character with the strength of superman lose ? Cryptonite ? Nop. She just constantly gets outsmarted, outmaneuvered, outbulshited. Ever read a story with a falsely weak main character that keeps defeating foes much stronger than them ? Ever wanted to read a story from the other prospective ? Olympia is the character that others gets to humiliate to prove that they're a threat.
I cannot stress this enough, but reading this was EMBARASSING. I was not sad, angry or terrified when Olympia lost. I was embarrassed and frustrated. If it was just some losses with her winning most of the time it would be completely fine. But here Olympia gets builded up for several chapters, she act all mighty and intimidating, and then she gets humbled again and again. Her few victories feel inconsequential. After a while it just feel like a bad joke. It's like being a Gen G fan at Worlds.
Another problem is that Olympia is in a part of her life where she's doing nothing but superhero stuff. She a had a normal life before, a crush, and a dream. And she abandoned it all for the sake of saving the city. Now it would have been cool in another story, but we don't get to really see her normal life, just learn about it from time to time. The issue being that

Don’t really get the premise. Super villains run around stealing and killing because Super Heroes are illegal, but the MC is still a super hero and everyone hates her and she hates everyone and she hates herself and doesn’t try hard enough even though it’s illegal even though society needs her.
