[Updates Twice Weekly With Patreon Backlog]The aliens came to Earth with open arms, but when the first missiles flew they showed their true nature. They say that what they did to us was an accident, that we were special. That they're sorry. But some things can't be fixed. Now they say they're trying to put everything back together again. It's hard to believe them.It should have been a dream come true. An entire galaxy that so desperately wanted to befriend us lies just out of reach, behind the iron curtain of their ships and the weight of their shame. It might seem like all is lost, that we have no choice but to bow to our misandrous rulers and their technological superiority. But humanity has a habit of adapting to adversity, and there are always ways to fight back. Perhaps a new approach is needed. One that takes advantage of our 'benevolent' overlords' appetites...

- RozinasranRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Keeping my eye on this one. Great concept and the characters are well fleshed out with realistic motivations.
I was worried at first that this would just turn into an edgy revengefest, but the world building is excellent and the chapters set in the alien pov do really well to underscore how this is a two-sided struggle with good and evil existing on both sides. Killer Kittens from Outer space is shaping up into an epic story. - ANGARoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the premise. It's dark, really dark, and telling it from the perspective of one of the aliens who watched it all happen is a novel take. Reading the first chapter got me heated, and I'm interested in seeing where this story goes.
Not enough content quite yet for a thorough review, but so far so good quality-wise too (as of chapter 4 which is all that's currently out). - RockeyeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I really like the overall theme of Earth being colonized and invaded and men- Usually in charge, in our society- Having to confront sexualization, abuse, objectification, etc.
The reverse sexual morals thing isn't entirely new, but it feels uncomfortable- And it should feel uncomfortable. Sexism and objectification is bad. It's just that it feels more impactful to men, when it happens to men.
Aside from that, anyway, it's shaping up to be a lovely political-military-intrigue story. My biggest dislike is that it doesn't seem to have a 'main character' and hops around viewpoints a lot.
- FutinRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Interesting first contact series, with multiple points of view and grounded characters. While it is still to early to say much else the writing is nice and well paced and the characters seem more or less believable. My only complaint is that the chapters are too short for my liking.
- MarcBot NopeRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Having explored the initial chapters available on Royal Road, I find the narrative holds promise. However, there are elements that notably detract from my enjoyment.
*Chapter One Spoiler Alert*
The premise that, following a drastic reduction in the male population, women would universally resort to taking arms against the invaders strikes me as implausible. Historically, women have tended to adapt to oppressive situations rather than directly confront external threats, a role traditionally associated with men. This societal dynamic suggests that, in the absence of men, women would likely seek ways to coexist with or adapt to the new circumstances rather than engage in outright rebellion.
Thus, the emergence of female fighters as a response to the crisis feels at odds with historical patterns of human behavior, challenging my ability to suspend disbelief and fully immerse myself in the story's world.
This text was enhanced by AI - Death with a glockRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5As far as these kinds of first contact sci-fi’s go this is certainly a darker take similar in setting (or so I’m told) to “sexy space babes” and a few others like it the whole genocide of 3.2 billion humans by alien invaders kinda got swept under the rug and the main female human protagonist seems somewhat lacking in empathy and emotion considering approximately half her family died and while the story has so far been toeing the line of painting the aliens in a good light it seems to be leaning towards supporting what is a, invasion of a foreign power whom then commits mass genocide primarily on civilians proceeds to annex the victim nations oppress the remaining civilians and refuse to acknowledge any of this what is extremely concerning about this is the part in blurb which claims this dictatorship is “benevolent” which doesn’t bode well for the future of this story. However as of yet these issues haven’t arisen to much and can still be fixed now if you’ll excuse me I need to go read some wh40k novels on space marines to cleanse my palate
- halaarmorRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The only proactive character in this story committed sodoku. Every other character is literally being strung along and reacting to every event with little to no change whatsoever. These people are shoveling turds into their mouths with smiles on their faces. Tommy is a paper thin waif with no agency. Ana is literally an emotionless robot who may well like being a slave apparently . And the male cat person (can't even rember his name) has so far managed to avoid using any of the info he's ground up about earth for anything anywhere. Meanwhile these supossedly shadowy figures who committed genocide have had free reign to do whatever they want for 5 months. If these character continue to do jack all I wouldn't be surprised if earth was just blown up in the next 3 chapters. And then they'd go oh well and attempt to join the cat people as their janitors or something. No on second thought that actually require them to make some sort of decision. They'd just be conscripted as janitors against their will.
