Description

In the world of Vega, two things connect everyone.

Power Level and Fear.

Whether it’s the standard [5] of an adult human, the [10] of a civilian pro athlete, or the [100] of an old grandmaster able to destroy buildings with a single blow. It determines your power, strength, speed, durability, and entire life.

Mutai was born at [1]. Normal for a human. He remained at [1] his entire life. Unheard of for any creature. And yet, it was a peaceful village life… until the Fear of the world paid his village a visit.

King Vega. Ruler of the planet. Destroyer of civilizations. - Power Level [9999]...

In a world of endless horizons. In a world of Ki. Where cities with flying cars exist next to lands roamed by dinosaurs; Where martial artists workout next to sentient dolls and stop by the local shop owned by a rock elemental; Where chain wraiths and zombies fight in the sewers; A world of myriad races and myriad realities. In such a world…

Does Mutai even stand a chance?

Rough start for sure - but it’s nothing some editing can’t fix, and it’s a pretty enjoyable world and power system. Characters also get a lot of attention later on and it works well to flesh everything out. Finally, I really like the way the MC grows both physically and emotionally. Worth it for sure.

It takes clear inspiration from the game Dragon Fist Limitless, and I wantid to see a story based on that games power progression and general vibe.
It doescharacters motive and flow quite well. You can definitely see were it gets its motivations to move forward and were it’s moving to and that it will be a good long road ahead.

Fridging the family doesn't feel like the greatest start, and up to chapter 37 there's only been so much world building. Though nobody likes being exposited at, so I can't say that that's a bad thing. Feels like we will get to see more of the world as MC explores it, which is nice actually
I'm having quite a lot of fun! The writing is funny and I can't wait to see more of the power system. There was a comment somewhere about how the book pulls too heavily from Dragon ball, but I really don't see it. Yes there is clear influence, but it's got its own thing going on and I like it.

Simple power system but we see the main character development not only in terms of strengh but mind too. The world around Mutai is weird very fascinaring from the little we see through his eyes ! There seems to be mana, ki and other poissble power so yeah ! Its really cool so go check it out right now <3

Having only read one story by the author before, I nevertheless feel that I recognize some of their style.
A - so far - well crafted story, interesting lore that is both shown and told in an organic way (making use of a protagonist that doesn't really have a lot of knowledge about the world he lives in) and nicely written action and character interactions.
Some definite Dragon Ball inspirations in many of the aspects mixed with some original concepts and ideas in a neat fusion.
I'll be looking forward to further chapters!

Great character development and power progression. Feels incredible well done and genuinely earned by the MC. The start is definitely weird and difficult to go through but I’m so glad I kept up with it.
I think the book could do with an edit to tighten up the start and maybe some more lore of the world around us.

OK, the start is poor writing for beginning a novel. I get what it's trying, but it does it in the worst way possible. Dragon Ball had nuance, as you don't know what happened to grandpa until much later. Then the MC here goes through the worst training arc, and gains a .01 power boost, and gets dropped in the sewer. Civvie11 created a meme about sewers for a reason.
This is not 5 star material. I can see potential behind the concept, but it's handled terribly, and you feel like YOU are participating in the training arc just by reading the chapters. The chapters are the punching bag, and you're waiting for the improvement, and then the improvement is .01.
Does it get better? IDK. You would need to push through like the MC to find out, and I doubt the world building and character writing gain exponential quality improvements and depth.
I normally don't recommend rewrites, but the beginning could use something, so people don't burn out.
Don't get mad I have honest criticism. I could have half star rated with no comment. This is a honest rating with honest feedback. The story has potential if it was written better.
