- TensaProductionsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Despite anything, I read your story and I actually ended up liking it, and I put it on my read later list. Keep up the good work you have a future in this, as long as you continue to work on your craft. I look forward to reading more of what you have to produce in the future.
- WildCalmRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am Really enjoying the characters and world the author has built. I find the plot very interesting. Iris experiencing new things is a fun read never thought about it from this point of view. One of my top reads so far. Can't wait to read the rest of the story.
- Forgotten_wraithRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0While this story has a very powerful MC unlike other works on RR they aren't the most powerful person ever. This story focuses on Iris and some of the difficulties she has reintegrating into society after living in what is essentially a souls game.
Style: character characterization is consistent and scenes stays chronological.
Story: the story is interesting and different than any OP character story I have read of RR. it focuses more on the Iris' journey and interactions with other characters as well as the politics of the worlds. A large emphasis seems to be put on the journey of recovering from trauma. the author does an excellent job of balancing politics, battles, interaction and story element together so that it dose become boring or repetitive.
Grammar: There is some issue with grammar but the author is improving the more they write. even with the grammar issue the story is still easily understandable and it doesn't detract too much.
Characters: The characters all have their own motivations, beliefs and motivations. The characterizations of characters has so far been extremely consistent.
Iris is the main character and as the reader we can easily understand who she is and what she wants. she learns from her mistakes and unlike some OP protags of RR doesn't immediately solve all problems with violence (just the ones that really get on her nerves). She also believes in compassion and has been growing as a character as the story progresses.
This is a great story if you want to see a character grow and change as well as interacting with those around them as well as a story that focuses on how the events of the world shape then story then this is for you!
if you are looking for a curbstomp OP MC or something where you can turn off your brain to read then this might not be for you - KeydouRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0You want a story with tragic past and slow character growth in a fantasy world with some action ? this is for you !
You want a badass/boastful/self-insert/generic mc stuck in the cycle of training and fighting ? go read something else.
So Mc and her three new friends are pure, kind souls. The kind that wish happiness for everyone. Little by little, you discover the characters' tragic past and the burden they carry in a cruel world, leading you to sympathise with them. Maybe even shed a few tears. As they interact with each other, they help each other heal, or perhaps just distract themselves from their ugly reality.
The story highlight interaction between close characters more than fights. Most battles have an obvious victor form the start due to the difference of skills, but it is still entertaining to see the strong flexing spells or the weak struggling to win.
The setting is a fantasy world with a system. Low focus on the system part, as the role of the system is quantify approximative strength by levels, and give level up missions. The leveling scale is quite small, as a level 6 is considered veerry strong, so don't expect too much level ups. The informations about the world is given in small parts through the chapters, so you'll not get overwhelmed by some info dump.
The end of the 1st book set flags promising a lot of action, I hope fighting will not become omnipresent, because it risk overshadowing the characters' interaction, which is in my opinion the strong face of the book.
Finally I want to thank the author. I enjoyed your book, and I was very happy ( or sometimes sad ) while reading it. I wish you to grow as an author and keep enjoying writing your story <3 - NovelhoundRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is very interesting so far. I'm definitely in love with the world building. The author has crafted a captivating setting that unique. I hope it continues to evolve and expand as the story progresses, as I can't wait to explore more of this fascinating world.
One aspect that stands out is the seamless flow of the narrative. The story effortlessly pulls you in, and the pacing is perfectly balanced, keeping you engaged from beginning to end. It's evident that the author has put a lot of effort into ensuring a smooth and enjoyable reading experience.
In terms of characters, the MC is an absolute delight. Her charm and overpowered strength make her incredibly endearing, and following her journey is both entertaining and fulfilling. Additionally, I appreciate the author's choice to make the MC overpowered. It adds an extra layer of excitement, as we get to witness the stark contrast in power dynamics and experience the world through the MC's unique perspective.
All in all, I highly recommend this story for those who appreciate well-built worlds, engaging narratives, and entertaining MCs. I eagerly anticipate what the author has in store for us next, as this story has definitely left me craving for more. - ShindoAoiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The is good. You can see little bits and pieces of the world through her interaction around her. Her voice still sounding like a 4 years old was an incredible details ! Why ? People who suffer trauma at a young age usually locks their voice at that age. Meaning that she was really young when she was thrown in the labyrinth. An other nice touch was how strong she is but this strengh was acquired through sacrifice. These little details truly makes the world real, alive and dangerous.
- snowfishRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5dude this story is great it covers the politics and reactions of a corrupt system when there is a shift in the power from a "mainly" unbiased view of a main character that is minimally invested in the rules, politics and consequences of her actions. it also quickly sets up the characters motivations, beliefs, culture and background in a convincing and organic way. it also sets up the idea that power is not freely given out to all because in any world nothing is free. the main character iris got to where she is through sacrificing one of her best friends, an arm, a normal digestive system and normal vision
- FenraeDraconisRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Looking at the core of the story it has everything that is needed to be great. The characters are developing, you can sense the damage reflected in the personality of the main character from going through what she did
I will continue following this story and will provide constructive comments in regards to edits for the author when I have time for no great story can be done without editors.
Also it is not the worse grammar I've read by far. This is royalroad where those with dreams come to write, learn, and perfect their craft. I think this story is worth the investment - danlern2Royal Road★★★★ 4.0The story has a lot of potential, with complicated-ish characters, a possibly intriguing world, and a plot with some depth.
If you just read it for what it has, then it's good. If you read it for what it could be, then it's unfortunately lacking. The more you read, the more the cracks show.
The author seems to have a really good outline of a story, but the implementation is rough. It has a generic power fantasy structure and plot, some Japanese-novel-type characters, but it tries to go beyond the basic.
It tries to be dark and depressing, but in some ways it's too over-the-top dark, and yet somehow not dark enough. It's very obvious in it's dark themes, with no undercurrent of horror or general grimdark feel
The characters are just a bit too quirky to feel natural, and are also not distinct enough from their general character archetype.
The plot has depth, yet it feels pretty shallow. While the main character has a motivation, it does not fully explain her actions. Many of the things that happen seem contrived and not well laid out. The outline is strong, but the point to point events don't line up perfectly.
4 stars for good effort, but I think it needs a redraft. - DanOttRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Excellent world building. I especially liked the characters and read this in a single day. Hoping to see further books.
I personally don’t believe in 5 stars unless the story is perfect (which I can only think of Lord of the Rings). This story was very well written and engaging. The only critizm I would give is that i feel swore section do not flow as well as other parts. But it does not break the immersion of the story.
