- TheRoyalRookieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A Captivating Blend of Fighting Manga and Reincarnation
I Agree with @FireGecko that this story masterfully combines the intensity of classic fighting manga (à la "Baki" and "Hajime No Ippo") with the intriguing elements of reincarnation scenarios (reminiscent of "Mushoku Tensei"). The unique blend of boxing and aura-based combat, along with a thorough mana system, creates an immersive world that draws readers in.
The narrative is rich and well-structured, with concise character dynamics that aid the main character's development. The worldbuilding is robust, providing hints about the overarching conflict and grounding the stakes in context. While some plot developments may be predictable, the story remains engaging.
Lucian/Akira is an intriguing protagonist with clear motivations and inner monologues that set him apart from typical isekai heroes. Supporting characters, particularly his mentor, shine in their roles. However, some characters, like Lucian's family, could benefit from further development.
The writing is dynamic, with rapid dialogue flows and vivid action sequences that captivate the reader. The humor adds levity, balancing the intensity of battles. Minor inconsistencies in grammar and pacing occasionally disrupt the flow.
The fight descriptions are vivid and excellently paced, making each battle compelling. The integration of boxing with aura-based combat is innovative, showcasing the author's creativity.
- Deeper exploration of Lucian's past life as a boxer to enrich his reincarnated identity.
- Further development of supporting characters.
- Refining grammar and pacing consistency.
This story is an engaging read, boasting a unique blend of genres, captivating fight scenes, and a rich world. With refinement in character development and writing consistency, it has immense potential. Fans of fighting manga and reincarnation scenarios will find this an exhilarating ride.

Recommendation: A must-read for enthusiasts of action-packed stories with - FiregeckoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story feels like a classic fighting manga like "Baki" or "Hajime No Ippo" meeting a reincarnation scenario similar to "Mushoku Tensei", as Akira is reborn as baby Lucian. The style is unique, with many descriptive scenes and a thorough mana/aura system that gets deeply explored, although still leaving much to be revealed.
The story itself has a good narrative with rich worldbuilding and many interesting characters. The dynamics between these characters and their role in the story is concise, doing a good job of aiding the MC's development.
The grammar is clean, with an odd mistake here and there, nothing noteworthy. In early chapters, the reader might see a character say something in quotations, followed by —character says.
The characters are well-written, having distinct personalities, like the looked-upon Arthur, or the comedic Sagar (at least for me). The interactions are funny when they need to be, and serious when the scene calls for it. The main character is not your classic no-personality isekai trash, but a very interesting one that has good inner monologues.
All in all, a good story with promise, rich world and amazing characters. The fight scenes are captivating and strategic, with thorough explanations for everything. - drechenauxRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story follows the journey of a boxer who meets his end unfortunately, but through an act of fate, is reincarnated as a young baby in another world.
Story: The story follows a lot of the typical isekai beats you'd expect. Guy meet god, is reborn as a young baby, uses his previous life's knowledge to get ahead- you know, the usual. But what makes the story stand out from other isekai is that it is extremely funny. Many stories have a few jokes thrown in, but this is approaching near Konosuba levels of humor (for those who understand that reference). That, and the story still happens to be engaging even if on the surface it seems derivative. Not to mention there is another angle to things- as he doesn't want to train in either swordplay or magic, the staples of the world, but boxing. Interesting to see where that will end up.
Character: We mostly get to know our MC for the most part of the story, with not that much emphasis on side characters but just enough to care about them. No complaints here.
Style: I don't see anything to complain about on a technical level.
Grammar: No major mistakes as far as I can tell.
Overall I think it's a highly enjoyable isekai. - RiversideRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A boxing oriented Isekai where a reincarnated man fights for the honor of a war god. What isn't there to like?
Style: Fast-moving action followed by shifts in location with a good amount of dialogue, some internal character monologue. Sometime the narrative goes too fast to lay everything out or resorts to info-dumping, but the style remains committed to keeping the events moving.
Grammar: There are issues with tense and POV. Mild, but it is there. These issues are fixed easily and do not impact the story overall. One chapter has some formatting issues (extra spaces) but is otherwise perfectly readable.
Story: The protagonist is a boxer who is killed during a fight and is reincarnated into the body of a boy in a fantasy world. There, he continues his love for boxing while growing up and figuring his place in a noble's household. This is a fantasy world reminiscent of Game of Thrones, so it has magic through the conception of 'Auras.' Protag trains with a mage. By chapter nine, a fight is teased. We are told a lot about things (in general) but as far as the story, there isn't a lot going on. Plot mostly dominates the opening chapters. I can tell some epic things are on the horizon, but that is about it.
Character: Major characters have a popcorn action feel to them. Whether you consider this good or bad is up to you. I feel certain motivations for the characters are not fully fleshed out and how they behave doesn't always make sense. But a lot of this could also be because of simple 'info-dumping masquerading as a conversation.' As I wrote in my comments, if the author takes a step back and reconceptualized a bit on the notion he is trying to create, he will be very successful. I understood who these characters were, but that next step is needed if I am to care about them.
In Sum: this is a great start. Some work needs to be done but it shouldn't distract potential fans from giving it a go and supporting a writer who is willing to do something a little different from - AustenKeatsRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a strong start to an isekai story centering on a boxer. The opening scene is compelling, and introduces us to both the character and the world he is in, plus the world he is going to.
Style: The internal monologue of the MC added much depth for the reader to get to know the MC better. One aspect that could be improved is more clearly specifying what is internal monologue vs what is dialogue with other characters; this is especially important in the 'new world' scenes, for reasons that readers will understand once they get to those excerpts. Overall, however, the style was great, and displayed the author's talent for developing strong characters and interesting worlds.
Story: The story was compelling and interesting. It makes the reader want to keep reading, as it has a nice hook that picks up early and keeps going. One area of improvement might be to provide a little clarity and specificity about the world, to orient the reader more which in turn will increase the reader's investment in the story.
Grammar: I found no issues here.
Character: The MC was the strongest point of the story. Fascinating and likable, it makes the reader want to continue just to see how the MC grows and what happens to him.
Overall - highly recommended for any fan of isekai, fighting-based, or fantasy literature. - Theora WattersRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I was uncertain about the story at first, considering the odd premise, but as someone who likes the concept of unarmed fighters/monks/pugilists in fantasy media, I thought it was worth a short. I think the first chapter or two are a bit rough, but for the most part, things improve as the story goes along, though there are ups and downs.
Stylistically, I get a very clear sense of what the author is going for. The dialogue and sight gags are indicative of manga/anime media, as is the premise itself. I think that especially early it leans a bit too hard into the tropes of the genre, but I think that this fits the vibe the author was going for rather well. The overall flow of the piece is very fast-paced and punchy (ha) and it works fine.
The beginning of the story is a bit cliche, and it certainly follows the isekai archetype, tropes included, but that's not a bad thing. Such cliches and tropes exist because they work; you don't always have to reinvent the wheel, you just have to make the ride smooth. And I think that overall, the story progresses well and things are kept interesting.
The characters follow a similar trajectory. They can be a bit over the top or cookie cutter sometimes, but they fit the overall tone and function well. I struggled sometimes to keep track of the protagonist's age, since he spoke and behaved like an adult despite only being three or so (I believe). While there were some examples of him trying to act the age, overall, it came off as a little odd.
I think that the grammar was the roughest part, though. Especially the first few chapters, which had a choppy flow to them. There are points that it's hard to tell which characters are speaking, when they are speaking aloud compared to thinking, and some comma/punctuation placement and misspellings. Some of the chapters, though, aren't too bad, and the grammar as a whole improves gradually. But perhaps the earlier chapters should be revised for consistency. There is a chapter or two in the teens th - ThrillianRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is a fun reincarnation with a nice little twist - it follows a boxer who is reincarnated into a fantastic world by the God of Combat.
The style works very well, giving the characters plenty of time to shine through fast-paced dialogue, while the fight scenes are also clear and well-paced.
The grammar is clear and concise with no major issues.
The characters are particularly fun and varied, and give the MC plenty of characters to interact with while he adjusts to his new life and body in this fantastic world. There’s clearly a lot going on in the world, and the author does a good job setting everything up.
The story itself is unique, well-told and very well-paced. If there is one minor problem, it's that the MC Lucian's previous life as a boxer comes up very infrequently in the first few chapters. It's clear his skills give him a major advantage in combat, but beyond that, the story feels more like a straight fantasy than an Isekai featuring a character from the modern world. Hopefully this is further explored in future installments.
Still, it's a very fun read, and one I'm looking forward to checking out more in the future. - GrumpsterRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Story is really engaging, has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing the improvements. The fight descriptions are absolutely gorgeous, vivid and the pacing for the fights are excellent, always making me want to read more. Plus the whole thing about aura and boxing intermixing is an interesting idea.
It's style is really energetic, a good read if you like that; but comedic timing might not exactly be the best thing that the story can offer.Still, the tension made within the style pacing from one part to the next moves the story along very well.
The story itself is strong, with clear, albeit predictable, plot points and stakes that is grounded within the context of the world you have created. A little more 'umph' into the story can absolutely improve it, however.
Basic, easy to read grammar, but there are some inconsistencies here and there that can make the writing feel a little bit off at times, but there's very flew glaring issues.
Lucian/Akira is an interesting character with clear motiviations, but some side characters such as the family might need some extra time put into them to really develop them - especially if they're going to be fleshed out and important later on.
Overall, a good read with a pretty strong mentor-student duo. If that sounds like something you'd like, then this would be a great read.
