Description

An entire world, mankind’s newest frontier, somehow made possible through a secret portal of unknown origins.

Second Lieutenant Jerome Simmons is one of few to know about its existence. What was supposed to be a well-earned block of rest is cut short as he receives an urgent call to report to the last location he expected—the bitter fringes of the Antarctic.

A clandestine base, a mysterious Rift, and a department full of reckless scientists are what awaits Jerome and his fireteam in this unexpected stint. Novel dangers loom overhead—local wildlife, complex indigenous civilizations, and more, in a world where the rules of survival are not so simple.

This gate-style military fiction is excellent. I highly recommend you consider giving it a shot. the first chapter was a little rough, but after that, it picks right up.
Style Score on this one is going to be 5 stars. the way the story is told from a leader's point of view is somewhat new to me, and I quite like it.
Story score gets another 5 stars. it draws you in, even if the first handful of paragraphs are a bit rough, and then it just doesn't let go. I can't wait for more to be uploaded.
Grammar score gets 4.5 stars from me. I personally reserve a 5 star grammar review for something that makes me learn a new word without it feeling forced, and while this one doesn't quite pull that off, there weren't really any errors that are worth mentioning.
The character score is 5 stars. I somewhat instantly related to the main character, and his motivations feel real. when other main characters are introduced through the lense of the MC, you can tell they are good friends, and it feels like a military unit.
Overall 5 stars! very much worth checking out and I expect it will only get better as it goes on.

I am starting to feel that this will become another gate harem thing. Harem fantasies are just too immature. HOPEFULLY this novel doesnt become one.
And then it comes to the UN. i hope this novel lessens the diplomacy. Not all readers like the diplomatic side of stuffs and prefer more action, adventure, drama, and romance. Like how macross animes are now these days.. that why there are no more macross animes since that cheesy macross delta.

Into The Rift follows the story of a UN SOF operative assigned to a groundbreaking new discovery -- a whole new world, fraught with both wonders and perils.
A rewrite of the original from Wattpad, the author has improved upon the first few chapters -- originally considered the sorest part of the original story -- to an excellent degree. Old readers may find the revamped chapters to contain new and curious details that reignite that first spark of interest, and new readers are offered the prospect of a new, unique, and exciting adventure involving sword-and-magic and gun-and-technology clashing beyond just force of arms (though there's certainly no shortage of that!) in a whole new world.
Overall, Into The Rift is an excellent read: a grounded, yet still at times fanciful take of a fantasy world encountering our own, with a unique cast of characters with motivations that tears at both their hearts and that of the readers, all set in a world that promises a deep and complicated history. A must read for enthusiasts of this genre.

One of the best Portal fictions that can be found,
The world is engaging and full of mystery
The magic can be understood if you find the clues left by the author
The military forces ain't just some copy and paste OOHRAH marines, they all come from multiple other countries and with it, experience and logic
When a squad is sent out to recon or rescue, they get support with things you should see in a real functional united force
Somthing that the UN wishes to that effective
    Overall 10/10
Cant tell too much or the "magic" is ruined
